In little league I don't remember a teammate ever getting an injury and missing this many games.  You toughed it out because the team needs you.

The team needs players who can run and field their position and have their timing from facing live pitching etc.

Bo can't field even when he could field. He can barely run even when he could run. Hit the ball 4 times a game and hop to first.

No Bassitt or Scherzer

Biggest suprise is Bassitt not on the roster and Bruihl on it. I get the move though, with the Yankees having so many left handed bats they want as many LH options out of the pen.

You want to guess who almost carried us to the provincials if it wasn't for Michael Saunders stacked rich kid team.

Don't bother.

The days of tough athletes fighting the pain of injury to play for the name on the front of the jersey is almost gone. Certainly not the big name players.

Fans like their athletes to be soft as cotton balls these days.

Great to see you continuing to work on your 2025 Least Valuable Poster award. That will be a very prestigious accomplishment for you and it's all but wrapped up given the varied assortment of awful posts you continue to make.

People are very romantic about the players that play for their team. Reality is often not as romantic but we just don't hear about it often.

Bruihl is hot garbage.  I trust Bassitt to get out lefties over Bruihl.  We have little, Flu and Lauer.  I'd much rather have had bassitt or scherzer on the roster.

There's no romance required here. Bo Bichette has an injured knee ligament and his team has stated that he won't be activated until he's able to be a regular player in the lineup. There's no need for the continuing insinuations that he's not actually injured or could easily play through this injury, it's just exposing you as a complete moron that you choose to continue on this crusade.

Wow im actually shocked. I thought for sure they’d both be included.

Front office means business here

Yeah surprised at least one of them didn't make it on the roster. Both of them off of it is a great sign as it means the Jays are prioritizing winning over feelings. Not always easy to tell big league vetrins that they are not needed, and the Jays had to tell $55M worth of them to sit at home (Bassitt/Max/Berrios), including a future HOF. Good sign though. Put the best team on the field. Bullpen + Lauer is likely better as the Game 4 starter.

This isn’t little league where kids are tubing 60 mph fastballs down the pipe lol

Guys are throwing 98 so if an injury affects your swing it makes you ineffective

Kind of digging the choices they made. Jays pitching is going to get weird this series.

You can just tell there will be some sort of unorthodox pitching move that will have Jays 24 and the rest of the casuals up in arms. 😁

Are players that are left off the roster allowed to still be in the dugout? Think having Scherzer still in the dugout for Vetrin presence would be good.

Max is happiest when he is hanging in the dugout.  Honestly think he doesn't care if he plays.  He likes the atmosphere.

But yes, they definitely are allowed.

Me too. Bruihl over Max and Bassitt? Ehhh but those veteran starters didn't have me confident they'd contribute meaningfully in this series anyway. If having four lefties available gives Schneider more comfort in managing loose, I'm here for it.

IIRC, Buehrle was off the roster in '15 but was still in the dugout.

Ya it was only the hardcore that loved pulling Berrios after 3 innings regardless of his stuff on that day.  Congrats Hardcore Max Silver lol.

Personally would have started using Max out of the bullpen at the end of the season to see how he looked when only needing to air it out for 1/2 innings.

Sucks about Bo... that joke of a play could be how he ends his blue jays tenure.

Bruihl was dominant against left handed hitters in a small sample of innings after his final callup with a .189 wOBA against and 30.8% strikeout rate. I wanted no part of Scherzer particularly against the Yankees given his inability to avoid big innings and propensity for serving up home runs but I was very surprised that Bassitt wasn't included in some capacity.

Goldie .336 BA vs lefties - he kills lefties

Rosario .306 BA

Belli has reverse splits

Jazz has even splits

Volpe .253 vs lefties

No Bassit or Max was not something I was expecting today. But obviously Max was not very good down the strech. I know when Bieber pitched in the inter squad games he wasn’t pitching Game 2. Just kinda crazy where we were a couple months ago with 5 legit starters. Now we’re starting a rookie with 14 Innings Pitched in Game 2. It’s bold but kinda like it.
