  1. They aren't selling when they're this close to a WC spot and the teams ahead of us aren't exactly juggernauts. Jays still haven't had a single week all year with even 4/5ths of their best rotation healthy. Hell, a couple weeks ago all they had was 2/5ths of their rotation starting with two goddamn bullpen days in a 4 man rotation. Well, this might be the first week we actually see it happen with Bieber returning, provided no one else gets injured. Hopefully it gives them a shot in the arm and they can get on a roll for the next month and a half. I'd rather they SPEND some of the prospect capital they've built up and grab a guy like Buxton. His bat could really give the Jays offense a boost.
  2. Well this thread got olerud'ed (aka ruined)
  3. Things I did not expect at this point in the season.... 1. Dalton Varsho is now our leading fWAR position player with 1.2 2. Brandon Valenzuela is our second highest fWAR pp with 0.9 (RIP Heiny when Kirk comes back) 3. Kaz Okamoto has better defense than offense so far 4. Ernie Clement has better offense than defense so far 5. Yohendrick Pinango is now our leader in wRC+ at 121, also has half the fWAR as Vlad in 1/4 the at bats. Also, Springer, Straw, Kirk, Barger, Lukes and Heineman combined for 19.1 fWAR last season, due to injury and underperformance they have combined for -0.2 fWAR so far this season. Oh baseball you crazy little bugger you.
  4. 1. Skubal 2. Cease 3. Gausman 4. Yesavage 5. Bieber
  5. I wonder if the Jays could swing a trade for another high velocity BP arm for one of their LH hitting corner OFs? Someone like Vodnik? Sanchez for Vodnik? Edit - just noticed Vodnik is out for 4 to 6 weeks Anyways, Id love the Jays to dig up another Varland type pitcher with control. Someone with velocity and stuff they can help mold into another high leverage monster. I'm not asking much here.....haha
  6. Berrios either didn't know he was seriously hurt or chose to pitch through it. Would explain the steady decline in his velocity and stuff. Hes only 32. If he gets surgery and comes back healthy next season maybe we see an uptick in his velocity and stuff again and he returns to being a solid mid rotation arm in the last two years of his deal.
  7. Its been noted now many times, the Jays offensive stats and league rankings right now are all very similar to what they were at this point last season. Hopefully they start to heat up with the bats soon and go on a nice summer tear. Sucks to be this far back in the division, but only two games back of a wild card, this team is not even close to being buried here. It'd be really nice to get Kirk and Bieber back though.
  8. Its hilarious. Guy pitches a gem and they lose 2-1 If they score 5 he puts up a rare stinker.
  9. I've been posting in here almost every day, you simpleton. And I did not have to wait very long for you to out yourself.
  10. See. You're exactly what I said you were a couple weeks ago.... "People like you always worry, that's your schtick. That way if it goes off the rails you can have your "I told ya so's" but if it goes great you can enjoy the success and winning with the rest of us." Always whining, always complaining, and just like a pig in s*** when the team struggles so you can act like you're actually smart.
  11. Hopefully Yariel is able to find sustained MLB success this time around. The swing and miss is tantalizing. The high walk rate is scary. Seems like the Jays are just teetering on the edge of something great with their pitching staff.
  12. Well that'll help the ole run diff / pythag Do it again tomorrow plz
  13. It's a small sample size but 0.3 fWAR and 160 wRC+ in 27 PA's for Pinango. My left eye is now twitching.
  14. It's going to be a fun summer when the bats get going and we're rolling Cease/Gausman/Yesavage/Bieber out there on a regular basis. Has there been any updates on Bieber lately? Is he at least throwing?
  15. Cole will come back and shove, because Yankees, that's why.
  16. Definitely not writing him off, it's a fairly small sample size. I was just legitimately shocked, the guy destroyed rookie ball last season.
  17. Juan Sanchez has a .321 OPS in low A so far. Jesus Jojo Parker has gone ice cold.
  18. The Rays are an inning away from a 20-12 start. Man that organization is like annoying little turd that won't flush.
  19. You need some context though. In the inning where he gave up 2 runs (1 earned) Klemens hit a weak 77mph single, then Keaschall battled him for an 8 pitch walk (tip your cap), then he got a 65mph swinging bunt groundball out that advanced the runners, and then gave up a 70mph infield single that resulted in one run coming in and a throwing error which scored the 2nd run. That's not bad pitching, that's just s*** luck.
  20. If Patrick Corbin is this years Eric Lauer, who is Eric Lauer going to be?
  21. I get some folks are just really deep into their fandom, but my goodness why get that upset over something you have ZERO control over.
  22. Unfortunately yes, I thought this was going to be his year and he has elbow soreness before he even got started. Crazy. It's May and he hasn't pitched an official inning yet
  23. 14 to 1 K/9 to BB/9 Better get him up to AAA ASAP so his BB/9 can balloon Seriously though, one of these days one of these promising young relievers is going to dominate his way to AAA and then not get blown the f*** up once he gets there. It's going to happen, I can feel it.
  24. Waaaait a minute. This is the BP with Tommy Nance included? Can't be true. Whiffle's been spittin' "facts" haha
