But after hearing that, the pie in the sky situation to start next season... Bateman - CF Vladdy - 1B Wood - LF Suzuki - RF Santander - DH Kirk - C Okamoto - 3B Clement - 2B Gimenez - SS Free agent pitcher to help replace Yesavage who is traded in a pretty monster package to acquire Wood. And possibly bring back Gaus or Bieber Dare to dream... lol

Assuming Washington was willing to trade one of Wood or Abrams to us for what we have to offer. AND we could sign one of Suzuki or Brandon Lowe. Which 2 guys would you take?

Yeah this is the dream. But I think we all know he's going to change nothing and we all just cross our fingers that somehow it works out. I mean, he said, and this almost verbatim, "I'm just going to rest and then work with my coaches like usual for next season ". Ugh We have to just hope that the org can put enough talent around him to succeed despite him. He's pretty great about once every 3 seasons, so hopefully they can acquire some real offensive talent and one of his good years happens during a fortuitous year, all around. Like last season. That said he was more good than great last season, other than his unreal playoff performance.

Maybe he has a good season right before expansion. We leave him unprotected and some new team says "f*** it" and picks him up? Is that dreamy enough?

What would "backing the truck up" for Yordan even look like, given that he's not free agent til 2029? They'd never trade him short of a package that, half of which, would burn your eyes out.

You could argue hitting a bunch of balls to the warning track is actually a good thing, or at least a sign of good power generally. I would guess we're 25th or worse in this particular stat, should it exist
