  1. He struck out 6 in 2.2. Hitting his spots, hitting 97 and the depth on his breaking ball. Like he was utterly dominant today.
  2. I get it, but if we're 3 weeks into the season and Max is ready, Bieber is ready and yesavage, Gaus, Ponce, Cease, Berrios are all healthy it's going to get awkward..lol
  3. They keep saying Bieber is only a couple weeks behind. Something has to give. You have a 26 and 40 man roster. You can't carry 7 starters. Max as a bullpen option? Berrios traded? Something has to give.
  4. I think the decrease in production from Springer will be offset from the increased production from Vlad. I think Barger will be an .800 OPS bat next year, Santander will be better. That will offset the drop from Bo to Okamoto. I still want to upgrade at the deadline, but our offense is fine imo.
  5. Man if the As went out and signed Bassitt and Gallen they could be a serious team. It's a shame they have no fans. I'm not even sure who cheers for this team? Are there fans in Las Vegas? Have Oakland fans abandoned them? Look at their lineup. Someone should be excited! 1b Kurtz OPS+ 173 2B McNeil OPS+ 111 SS Wilson OPS+ 121 3B Urias OPS+ 82 C Langliers OPS+ 134 DH Rooker OPS+ 123 LF Soderstrom OPS+ 126 RF Butler OPS+ 96 CF Bleday OPS+ 92 Like that's a serious lineup. One of the best in the AL. De Vries is coming. No one cares..lol. It's kind of sad.
  6. Gimenez' wRC+ was 96, 83 and 70 the last 3 years. Feels more like the league figuring out him. Can he bounce back to be 85 to 90. Sure. Getting to 100 would be a stretch. I have a dream and it's Corey Seager. Texas is going to be 10 games under .500 come July1. Nimmo will help the offenses a bit. Langford could take a huge step forward, but if he doesn't they are in big trouble. Their best starting pitchers are Eovoldi who's out of contract after 27 and Degrom who's old as dirt too. Can they compete with Houston and Seattle? Look at the A's though. Kurts, Wilson, Rooker, Soderstrom, Langliers and De Vries coming in 27. The Las Vegas As will have money to buy starting pitching and prospects to trade for starting pitching. Is Texas competing in 27, 28 and 29 against that? They need a complete teardown. We trade Gimenez, some cash and we'll have to trade a King, one of Paker, Nimmala. You still need guys to play so taking on Gimenez at a lower contract amount won't be bad and he becomes another tradeable asset for them. They get the prospects for the rebuild. Seager has an 8 team no trade, but he has 10 and 5 rights following 26. The only problem is the Yankees and 4 or 5 other teams will want Seager too..lol
  7. You must have seen a lot of his high school games to come to that conclusion I'm guessing..lol
  8. Jo Jo is 4 years away...lol and seager is a hall of famer! Glad to hear Jo Jo is going to be a hall of fame player!
  9. I mean, I don't hate the idea. I like only having to commit 2 years. I'd be good either way. Sign him, or trust and roll with the guys you have and save dry powder for the trade deadline. I like Schneider's bat more than most though. I think him platooning starting against lefties. Sitting Gimenez against lefties.
  10. You're taking playing time away from Barger or Santander in that scenario. Santander and Suarez are similar guys. We just need Santander to rebound and be the guy he was going into free agency. We need to upgrade significantly at a position. That comes with a mid season. Trade Giminez plus cash plus prospects acquire Seager when they are 5 games under .500. When your 2 best pitchers are injury prone and late 30s that requires a teardown. The A's will have Kurtz, Soderstrom, Langeliers, Rooker, Wilson and De Vries joining in 27. That's a scary core. The Las Vegas As will have money to add starting pitching to support that core.
  11. Yeah, I feel uneasy about the closer position. I think if they knew they weren't getting one of Bo or Tucker, they would have nabbed Helsley.
  12. We have added impact pitching. It depends what you need. We added an impact starter in Bieber who won critical games in the ALCS and the world series.
  13. The offseason is done. There's not much left to do. In hindsight, I just wish they would have signed Helsley. I think we will have 5 starters with sub 4 ERAs. I've never felt so good about our rotation. Bit of worry about Bieber's health, but i guess that's why we haven't traded Berrios. Mid season when it becomes obvious to Texas that they can't compete with the surging Las Vegas As and they need to do a teardown we can trade Gimenez and our most of our farm for Seager.
  14. He's a 4 to 5 win player. There's just no upside. There aren't a lot of deficiencies in his game. His physical tools have declined due to injuries.
  15. I'm more than happy for the Dodgers to pay more..lol. 60 mil is stupid. Kyle tucker isn't that good. He's had a lot of injuries too. Coming off his injuries he put a .738 OPS second half. His sprint speed was 26;5. His max exit velo was 108.7. Physically he's pretty underwhelming. Guys like that can fall off fast. He has fantastic plate discipline and really good contact rates. I think he'll avg around an .820 OPS over the next 4 years. I've been very luke warm on him all off season. He has avg D. I'm glad we avoided a 10 year deal on him.
  16. KO at 3rd. Bo at short or 2nd. Giminez platoons with Clement. Giminez was a 1 win player. He shouldn't be guaranteed playing time. He was terrible. I laugh at people who think we could never get rid of Straw and his 1 year 6 mil contract, but think Giminez has tremendous value. Straw put up 1.8 wins in 60 fewer at bats making 6 mil vs Giminez who's at 15.2 mil luxury tax number and 23 mil actual salary his last 3 years and he put up 1 win last year..lol.
  17. Straw was a 1.8 win player last year in 299 plate appearances. He doesn't make that much money. If there are injuries in spring training I could see a team picking him up off on waivers or trading for him. His D and baserunning are elite. He also has a stellar clubhouse reputation. He's a really good dude.
  18. Giminez is the boat anchor. He's a 15 mil luxury tax hit with 23 mil actual salary his last 3 years. If we didn't have his contract on the books we could still go after bichette. I think Okamota is good value at 15 mil, but that pretty much takes us out of the running for Bichette. I expect us to move Berrios to free up salary. Taters at 14 mil isn't even that expensive. We might trade him and eat some salary. If I could give away Berrios, taters and Giminez and sign Bo and Tucker I would, but that's wishful thinking..lol
  19. He can be my full time DH a year from now. The way they are talking on mlb radio 12 to 15 mil a year. That's just too much of a deal to pass up on.
  20. Murakami has way more raw power than Okomoto. Murkami's avg exit velocity last year was 96.5 mph. That would have ranked him 1st in the MLB. HIs max exit velo was 116.5 mph. That would have tied him with Barger for 17th. He has a career K rate of 25.1% but a 15.9% career walk rate. He's 25 years old. Like the Pirates have a shot at him. If we can get him for 16 to 18 mil AAV, it's worth the gamble.
  21. I'm a big believer in sample sizes. 15 PA is not a sample size. Murakami could be the best free agent signing this off season. Murakami had a lower K rate, higher BB rate and higher home run per plate appearance than Ohtani did in his time in Japan. Anyone with plate discipline who can hit it 117 MPH off the bat is a player of interest for me.
  22. I guess you haven't heard the Mets and Dodger rumours..lol. I think Tucker is going to get massively overpaid. Sign Bo and sign Murakami.
  23. The Jays should sign Murakami. I've talked myself into it.
  24. Man it feels like we need to clear some salary. I could see a Berrios trade any day. They are likely haggling over the dollar amount we have to pay down with a couple teams. I'd give Giminez away too if I could.
  25. We beat Skubal in the regular season, Snell twice in the playoffs and Ohtani in the playoffs too so there's that. It would be daunting, but anything can happen.
