Jays are only 3 games back of Yankees so how is the projection costing them 8?? I think they were supposed to be a couple games ahead right now given easy schedule + the injuries. So they literally lost 8 projected games to the Yankees in 5 days.
Olerud363.354 Verified Member Posted April 6 Posted April 6 Good news is the other teams suck so Jays are 'projected' to sneak into playoffs with their 83 wins and could even host the Astros or Rangers in the Wild Card series. That's projections so it probably won't work out like that. Like 6 teams are projected to be 82-84 wins. However in reality one or two of the 6 will got hot and win 88 so 83 won't be enough to host the wild card. Maybe Jays be the one who wins 88? Barger probably two torn meniscus but no doubt Eloy Jiminez can replace Barger if healthy (and so far healthy in Buffalo but probably will tear his two meniscus when he gets up game 2 at bat 3). One of Bieber, Yesivage, Berrios returns? Maybe... maybe... or maybe they all need Tommy John. Problem is if the season is cursed everything will go wrong. Like if their is redundancy in a normal season the redundancy plays. 3/3 things don't wrong in normal season... but in a cursed season, which this very likely is, everything goes wrong. Even there's only a 1% chance of 10 wrong things happening, they will go wrong in the cursed season.

He'll come back from ankle injuries with more power...WAY more power since it is both ankles.

Same for Lukes. Issa 85 win team I don't want to rehash the World Series last year (we've all struggled enough with that), but it really shows you that you have to take advantage of the "team of destiny" run when it happens. Like last year the Jays could have pinch hit IKF for Barger in the 9th inning with Mason Miller on the mound and it would have worked out. JS could have made decisions based on flipping a coin and it would have worked like 90% of the time. Then the following year the team looks (on paper) to be just as good if not deeper than that 2025 team and then players start getting hurt left and right within the first week of the season. There's still an eternity left in the season and I still expect the Jays to make it to the playoffs (as a WC team.....I think the Yankees might be legit with that pitching staff), but it just goes to show you how fleeting success could be sometimes, and how hard it is to win a title. We all call each other out when it is warranted. It just happens to be warranted in 90% of your posts. Rather than look in the mirror, you claim everyone else is crazy. Ok bro. I posted a youtube video in the other thread where multiple people found funny and you were crying like a little ***** lol.

Makes me think he's not very good? My rough assumption based on no info is he's a pop up, lab grown guy. 23 years old and not even being in the NPB minor leagues while throwing 97 raises some serious eyebrows. I'm just going to assume he was barely cracking 90 a year and a half ago, then decided to invest in himself and went to these newfangled pitching labs and reinvented himself from scratch. He may even have declined offers from NPB teams in order to transition to the MLB more quickly. Once guys are in the NPB they need to play a minimum of 9 seasons to be able to become international FAs without restrictions, or go the Roki Sasaki route where you have to beg your team to post you. This opens up a path for him to make the MLB while still in his prime. Spanky__99 and Brownie19 2
