  1. Jay Harry moved up to AAA. 2-4 with a walk in his debut and also notable he was playing CF
  2. I just finished watching the highlights... to say that bunt decision was questionable is being extremely generous. Clement is a guy who gets the bat on virtually everything so theres a pretty decent chance he gets the runners moved over as one of his higher percentile outcomes, while keeping the chances that he knocks in a run himself. Calling for the bunt eliminates all of the run scoring outcomes(except for errors) while keeping all the s***** contact outcomes, for an increased chance at moving the runners at the cost of one of your last remaining outs. That said, if you get called on to bunt, popping it up like that is also inexcuseable. Do better Ernie
  3. Both pros, not prospects. Sasaki just didnt wait until he could be posted so had to be signed under amateur international free agent rules, but he was already a pro
  4. What prospects from Japan? The only guys signed from there the vast majority of the time are pros The last high school kid signed from Japan was done by Oakland and i think another is in the NCAA waiting to be draft eligible.
  5. Yanks in Rogers Center are the Jays at the Trop.
  6. Also nice to see Moon holding his own so far in the FCL
  7. Id say an exceptional job on the margins. Its these moves that are keeping the Jays relevant this season while the parade of injuries was/is happening
  8. Clement is the type of player you never go out of your way to extend to long-term 9-figure deals, especially when they're over 30. Just give up. The defense of "other GMs have done dumb stuff so that makes it possible" isn't even remotely relevant
  9. Taschin. They signed him last year interesting kid. This is usually the first stop for minor league rehab assignements too, like Cade Doughty right now as an example
  10. In no universe is Clement getting 100+ million dollars as a free agent as a light-hitting utility IF when hes 33.
  11. Would not have expected him to be above King, but thats great to see
  12. Some kid named Kirk homered in Dunedin yesterday. Anyone have a scouting report on him?
  13. Is he going to fall victim to Albert Belle syndrome in that hes obviously a HOF talent but got wrecked by injuries robbing him of the longevity factor?
  14. Yeah, for a guy with his upside youd want to see more but yeah, its early. He's a 2-week hot stretch from looking good again to the slash-line scouts.
  15. Its because its not defined at all in the rule book. It's pure interpretation
  16. Exactly. They should just stick him in a room and show him his 2025 playoff highlight reel and say .. "whatever the f*** you were thinking then, get back into that headspace NOW" He went up every PA looking to do damage. Now it's like you say, just get something in play... inside-out everything just cuz he can... it's so annoying to watch a HOF talent play like a slap-hitting 2nd division regular.
  17. Career best K rate, career best walk rate. Career worst Barrel rate of 7.2, which is below league average. He's basically swinging a pool-noodle really really fast.
  18. Even comparing April OPS to May... .396 April, .730 in May. I hope June numbers continue this trend of improvement. He's also murdering LHP this season
  19. He was trusted with high leverage because there was nobody left. All the top guys were unavailable and everyone else pitched before him the game. I guess its good they felt he was the best option of the bottom 4 though
  20. Owners offer today! Key details of the owners' offer include: Cap and Floor: A maximum team spending limit of $245.3 million and a minimum team payroll of $171.2 million. Revenue Sharing: A 50/50 split of baseball revenue, alongside centralized sharing of local media revenues to combat TV blackouts and reduce the spending gap between small and large-market teams. Tax adjustments: A "competitive-integrity tax" for low-spending teams, mirroring the luxury tax penalty. Teams currently over that proposed cap = 6 Teams currently under the proposed floor = 15
  21. One will never happen without the other so...the question is rather irrelevant
  22. Lockout more likely. I wish i had faith they were smarter than this and will capitalize on the MLB's momentum in popularity and not risk alienating fans but, I feel like this is the year where the owners get stupid and demand a salary cap and dig their heels in
  23. Davis Schneider is 2 for 2 with 4 walks since returning to Buffalo. AAAA guy??
  24. Nimmala was lifted in the 4th inning of today's Fisher Cats game. Hope it's nothing serious.
