Tuco Verified Member Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 How can you not cut the cord on this guy after practically throwing the entire team under the bus and even calling out Melky like that? Let it be over and done with already. Release the clown. Because this front office is a joke. AA has no stones whatsoever.
JaysRap Verified Member Posted July 4, 2013 Author Posted July 4, 2013 At the end of the day this is on AA and upper management. This type of laughable behaviour has been going on way too long and the Jays have basically created a situation where certain players can say and do whatever they like without any consequences. Inmates running the asylum. Zaun alluded to that last year when talking about Sierra/Lawrie/JP not being held accountable for their poor play on the field.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 DFA Gibbons, Promote Marty Brown. He hold Gose accountable for his s***** actions ... Gibbons had what to do with the behaviour of Sierra, Lawrie and JP last year?
Errorcebia Verified Member Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 He's a leader, he speaks for the whole team. These are the intangibles we have been missing.
admin Site Manager Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 Zaun alluded to that last year when talking about Sierra/Lawrie/JP not being held accountable for their poor play on the field. Like I said, new manager, same s*** show. Maybe it's not the manager...
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 DFA Gibbons, Promote Marty Brown. He hold Gose accountable for his s***** actions I think it's jumping the gun here on the "inmates running the asylum" angle. We saw gibbons take Lawrie to task when Lawrie got out of line with Lind, and Bautista is noticeably less douchey on called third strikes. there's no way he can prevent JPA from saying what he said, he ca only deal with it after the fact. It would be interesting if JPA wasn't in the starting lineup or something tonight...
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 I'd love JPA to get benched for the next series or something. He clearly didn't think about what his words were implying about steroids, I really don't think he even thought about Cabrera and how he could be connected to the statements he made about PEDs. He just wanted to take a cheap shot at Zaun and used PEDs as that shot... Not an excuse of course, it just further evidence that he just doesn't think before the mouth opens.

I would expect Gibby to bench him for at least a game, but who knows. Gibby really needs to take charge here and show this team that he is boss and start giving more playing time to Thole. JPA just does not belong here.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 And he had time to think. The whole thing was pre-meditated. We're dealing with a special class of idiot here. It's sad that was the best he could come up with. He is dumb plain and simple. I would love to see AA just say f*** it and demote him to AAA to send this team a message that they need to shut their mouths and just start playing. When your playing well below expectations, its time to shut your f***ing mouth and fix it.

I can't even believe this is real. He actually thought it would be a great idea to go on a radio show and completely trash two other Rogers employees, while simultaneously tossing his teammates under the bus. This guy truly has a 5 cent brain to say the least. If he could just take most of this constructive criticism and try and improve his game (his walk rate at least), maybe he wouldn't have so many people trashing him like they do now. What a f***ing idiot.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 Zaun on PTS at 5:20 EDT, I wonder what he'll have to say
Buster Verified Member Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 So what is JPA going to say if Jack Morris starts ripping him? "I don't take criticism from fringe hall-of-famers."

8D Verified Member Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 Got a feeling Rogers told Zaun to take the high road on this one. Damage control.
flafson Verified Member Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 I'm pretty sure JP knows he's playing poorly and pretty sure everyone around him keep telling him that 24/7. Kinda pointless for other media guys to rip at him all the time too. JP says he doesn't care what they think but obviously he does. I tend to agree with JP but on the other hand, not sure this horror story is the way to go.
Dude Verified Member Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 I'm listening Same, this should be good. Right now, they're talking about the importance of players being able to deflect negative attention from the media. Just mentioned getting JP and other players getting off of twitter. http://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mdynf2uiP11rri9jt.gif
JugglingPitches Verified Member Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 I doubt JP will be sent down since Sunday is JPA bobblehead day.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 Elliot Friedman's take... Has no opinion of the guy as a person since e's never really met him, doesn't care that he took a run at the media, that's ok.... But from a business POV, as Blue Jays management, they have to know that it was calculated and planned, and then came out and said what he said in a situation where every game is must win, and all you have to do is say one wrong thing and the powder keg of media will go off. He should have realized that he shouldn't be starting anything like this at this time of the season. Now the media is going to have to go to melky and all the other players whether or not they actually support what JPA said, and it will create problems in the locker room, and this all the reaction of JPA and his comments
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 Friedman says they should ban them from twitter... And I agree. Act like a child, get your toys taken away
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 Great.. More idiot comments incoming If he simply stated that he was giving it his all and told people to stop slamming him every day thats one thing, but to go out of your way and promote this myth that no one outside the game knows what theyre talking about is beyond dumb. Zaun wasnt an all star here but he was at least roughly league average..which is a lot more than JP will ever be
admin Site Manager Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 "Melky, bro, you know we all took s*** to get where we are, I didn't mean anything by it."
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 Looks like he's catching tonight: @Wilnerness590: #Bluejays lineup v #tigers Reyes6, Bautista9, Encarnacion0, Lind3, Rasmus8, Izturis5, Davis7, Arencibia2, Kawasaki4; RogersvVerlander #Jays
Nox Verified Member Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 JPA has no argument/rebuttal to any of the criticism itself so instead he immediately goes the ad hominem route. A clear indication you've lost the argument when you have to resort to that. To think that petulant, substance free rant was prepared material shows what type of mind we're dealing with here. Not that we didn't have a pretty good idea prior to this mess.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 Already did, apparently Melky has "no problem with it". Which I have a hard time believing What else is he supposed to say?
JugglingPitches Verified Member Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 I hope JP gets booed. Won't happen but if anyone deserves it, he does.

John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 What else is he supposed to say? Yeah... No reason to make things worse by firing right back. Needs to be handled internally.
