New to baseball, JPA hits bombs for a catcher?

But this isn't the 1970s anymore. Aren't fans aware there are more statistics than Home Runs?

That's a good point... No catching instructor for a guy who clearly needs it.... That's not really excusable

I hope Zaun puts JPA through the microscope now when he does his on-air ramblings.

Time for JPA to put up or shut up now.

Main thoughts on this:

-JPA is a little bitch

-Front Office has no clue what they're doing. How do you not bring in a catching coach after the defensive criticisms of this guy?

-Why the f*** has this mess not been addressed by the FO yet?

basically, just a bunch of frustrating things to hear as a fan.

So the original Zaun interview isn't available?

I think it'll be available after the show is done (7PM).

If not, f*** em.

Everything Zaun and Hayhurst said makes JPA look worse. It's the perfect storm if just a teammate chastises JPA now. Come on MDR do your babysitting job, and help turn the casuals against him.

Because you don't have a career and have never been a professional. How can you be expected to know the responsibility that comes with it or the way in which your actions in uniform impact your entire organization.

And there's situations where adults are up in arms when something is said in public that's mainstream with youth and are offended, because 50 years ago it was forbidden to say.

I do agree what Escobar did was wrong. But is blown way out of proportion.

Someone within the last few pages posted a direct link. I just listened, Zaun literally s*** on JPA's head.

Crowd reaction should be interesting tonite especially if JPA strikes out first at bat..

The guy should just shut up and perform on the field.

He not only undressed JPA but the entire Front Office

7K+ views in this thread already from just after 9AM this morning.

JPA knows how to draw numbers brahs.

From chicks at games and at home to forum posters from all over the world!

Fans? Yes. Teenage girls that want to taste his peener? No.

the baseball central back handed slaps were amazing just now. Zaun saying "I'd be frustrated too if I were hitting that badly" then Hayhurst saying I talked to him today and he asked me to point out the positive like his RBI"s in relation to the rest of the catchers.

JPA wants Dirk to talk about his RBIs lol

Because that's exactly how the media should work. Media members need to ask the players about what they should focus on when they talk about them.

Has there ever been a Jay as dumb as JPA?

George Bell was almost as unaware of the player/fan/sportscaster dynamic, but at least he was one of the best players to ever wear a Jays uniform...

Yeah... Okay but RBIs? What a f***ing idiot

Sorry, internet sarcasm was intended on my previous comment. To clarify, I agree: JPA is a f***ing idiot.

Yes but we're not talking about whether he can play...it's whether he's stupid or not.

Exactly, same with politics. Politicians should decide what the media says about them too!

(Yes, I know you were being sarcastic, I was too... I hope you were anyway :P)

Nope, Lawrie backs it up with his play between the lines. There's similarity, but that doesn't outline the ballplayer in question.

If injuries slow his defense, which the way he plays is very possible, he'll have to hit more to pull his weight. He will not survive in this league with his current approach (both in the field and his approach at the plate)

Wanna read what I wrote again? Where I said that Bell was "almost as unaware of the player/fan/sportscaster dynamic" and then said "at least he was one of the best players to wear a Jays uniform"?

You know, how I totally WAS talking about whether he was stupid or not?
