Legit question. Is it because of the accusations of some rougher than normal coitus?

Nobody has signed Bauer. Do some critical thinking and ask yourself why that might be

Posted
You don't need RC+, OPS+ or whatever ranking to know that the offense has been bad. All you need to know is that the Jays called up some scrub, put him in the leadoff spot, and immediately the offense looks a bit better.

Also should ask if starting pitching is even close to the Jays biggest problem right now

Thanks for killing our season Springer and Bichette and Vlad - the core is rotten... yeah I'm throwing Vlad in there for being a professional ground ball hitter. Vlad's ground ball rate is 7th highest in baseball. It is astronomically stupid he hasn't fixed this issue yet.

Guerrero hasn’t been a problem. He’s the 6th best 1B by wRC+ and WAR in baseball this year. The lack of power is annoying but he’s hitting 25% better than league average in a year where offence is down.

Bichette is a problem and he has been for 400+PA and Springer has been an issue as well. We had JT, KK, Kirk though he has looked better, our bullpen in Swanson, Romano, Mayza, Cabrera until recently has also been a big problem.

Guerrero has 1 fWAR almost half way through the season.

He may be hitting "ok" but he's most definitely a problem

Funny how some posters will use wRC+ to fit their narrative claiming “Vlad is fine” then use WAR to say Teoscar would only be a negligible upgrade to the offense.

I'm assuming this is a shot at me because I don't think signing Teoscar this last off season would have moved the needle for the 2024 Jays?

He would have been a negligible upgrade on the overall team as a whole, in my opinion.

He'd obviously be an upgrade on the offense, but his $20+ million price tag would force other players off the team and take away their non-offensive contributions.

And besides, I just said Vlad isn't fine. He's barely above replacement level.

Imagine thinking Teo would be a negligible upgrade on THIS team... yikes.

Explains why him and the front office are so aligned on decision making lol.

What other players would be forced off the team if Teo signed? Nobody here would be missing KK or Turner at all lol.

Here we go again, Series W against a good Guardians team and the Debbies want to talk about Teoscar (because they can't talk about Moreno, Gurriel, AA, etc. right now).

Questioning established thinking, or viewing things from a different lens, doesn’t require genius.

The Dunning-Kruger effect is on full display extremely often here.

Agreed. Just not with me. I don’t wade into debates that go over my head. And if I’m wrong, I can see it. Unlike most that will just call names and such, rather than come off their position, in the face of facts they don’t like.

It's not the positivity thread. A win or a loss does not change the overall picture. This team has a terrible offense and it's fair game to question how we got here.

Agreed. A 1st baseman that can’t hit HRs is a major problem in the AL East.

Spencer Horwitz projection .280 .370 .410 14 homers 77 rbis

Vladimir Guerrero Jr projection .280 .370 .410 14 homers 77 rbis

Brothers from a different mother. hashtag 'no power bro'

together they could hit 30 homers if they both played 150 games. Maybe we will see it in 2026.

I am so sick of arguing with you two about this, and I'm sure everyone else is tired of reading it.

If you want to think Teo being on this team would save it right now, be my guest. Would it be better? Probably, assuming he hits as well here as he's hitting in LA.

Does it move the needle enough to "fix" it? f*** no.

lmao

So your argument is that if it doesn’t fix the problem 100% then its not even worth exploring? If you can’t fill EVERY hole at the deadline then you shouldn’t bother at all?

Right elbow soreness for Yimi

With Yimi throwing 100 or damn close to it, I kinda figured this would happen at some point. Hopefully it's not serious.

Yeah. His stuff took a huge jump this year at almost 34. I've been waiting on the elbow issues.

You are undoubtedly correct but the Debbies are parsing your words to fit their argument.

Of course Teoscar would have helped. We'd probably have a couple more wins. But that's assuming that Atkins and Mattingly could squeeze as much out of him as the Dodgers are. And like you said, if Vlad, Bo, Springer, etc. were playing up to their potential that would be something like 5 or 6 wins right now.

Elbow soreness ain't good. Was hoping it was anything other than an elbow or shoulder injury.

That has NEVER been my argument for f*** sakes.

It sure sounds like it at times though. You just keep on repeating how guys like Teo and JDM wouldn't have completely fixed the offense and carrying on like it wasn't worth bothering to add them for this reason.

People keep bitching that the Jays should have "fixed" offense last off season

I said it couldn't have been "fixed" without Ohtani and/or Soto

Pretty simple.

Yet somehow a bunch of mouth breathers take that to mean that i don't think it could have been improved or that Atkins is absolved of all blame and gets a "free pass" lmao

And they just keep repeating that I have that stance. And then a guy likenyou comes along and apparently thinks that's my stance too
