    Scouting Report

Joseph 'JoJo' Parker is a left-handed hitting prep infielder out of Mississippi who lit up the summer showcase circuit and has steadily moved up boards this spring. It's a big league type frame at 6'2, 200 pounds. Parker starts with a narrow base and has a smooth quiet load as he strides into his swing. It's a good looking operation from the left side of the plate and Parker has shown a refined hit tool to go with some emerging power.

While his other tools are mostly average. He'll have a chance to stick at shortstop in the short to medium term, but might end up moving to another position on the dirt. Even if he moves off shortstop, this is a profile that has rocketed up draft boards due to the level of confidence and polish present in his hit tool. There aren't many strong hit/power prep profiles in this class, at least not with the level of certainty most evaluators seem to assign to Parker. His name has been mentioned as high as the top five as of this report. Joseph's twin brother Jacob will also likely be a top 100 profile in this class.

    Scouting Report

Cook is an exceptional athlete with some of the better supplementary tools in the entire draft class and outstanding questions about the quality of his offensive profile. Standing at 6'3, 185 pounds, Cook is a wiry athlete with double plus speed. He's an absolute burner. This gives him outstanding range in the outfield, which is paired with a strong arm that should allow him to stick in center field for the foreseeable future.

Offensively, bat-to-ball skills are the major headline here. A slap hitter, Cook has excellent contact ability, with a ridiculous 6.3 K% in 2025. There's little extra base impact to speak of. If Cook hits enough, the speed, defense, and bat-to-ball ability will give him a chance for a solid pro career. Cook hit .350/.436/.468 (.905) in 60 games for Southern Miss in 2025.

    Scouting Report

    From MLB.com:

One of the best Canadian prospects in the 2022 Draft, Bucknam turned down the Blue Jays as a 16th-rounder to attend Louisiana State. He worked just 16 innings in two seasons in Baton Rouge because of command issues, enjoying more success in two summers in the Cape Cod League before transferring to Dallas Baptist. He became the Patriots' No. 1 starter and has some of the best feel for spin in the college ranks.

Bucknam's tight 85-88 mph slider can reach 91, features high spin rates and is a legitimate wipeout pitch, while his low-80s curveball has more depth and is nearly as effective. His fastball stands out more for its velocity, usually ranging from 92-96 mph, than its life or ability to miss bats. He achieves some fade with his upper-80s changeup, though it's too firm and he struggles to land it for strikes.

Bucknam has a strong 6-foot-1 frame and has improved his control as a junior, though he still gets into trouble when he catches too much of the plate. To succeed as a starter at the next level, he'll have to improve his fastball command and refine his changeup. If not, he could thrive as a reliever who relies heavily on his breaking pitches.

    Scouting Report

Piasentin is a physical prep prospect out of Alberta with an imposing, 6 '3, 205 pound frame. Piasentin put up one of the more impressive rounds of batting practice and the MLB Draft Combine, underscoring that power is the calling card of the offensive profile. There's some swing and miss in this profile, but that's not uncommon for a prep prospect for whom there's a coat of two of polish to apply.

Defensively, it's a plus arm ideally suited to third base. He's not a great mover, and there's work to do on the actions in the infield. Still, with two plus tools, there's a chance an org takes a chance on Piasentin in the first three rounds and pulls him away from his commitment to Miami.

    Scouting Report

In what is likely a continuation of making under-slot picks to set up spending big on some high school players, the Blue Jays took Watts in the seventh round. A relief pitcher during his time at Auburn, he didn't find much success at the college level, only managing an ERA of 7.25 in two years for the Tigers. This past season he racked up 28 strikeouts in 28 innings, while putting up a disconcerting WHIP of 1.536. He's a big righty (6'2") with a projectable frame, but this feels like a big reach in the seventh round of the draft.

    Scouting Report

Thompson Jr. Is another college relief pitcher the Blue Jays took in the early rounds of the second day of the draft. He had a 3.79 ERA in 23 games this past season. He is a multi-inning reliever with a proclivity for striking out hitters, notching 87 punchouts in 61 2/3 innings pitched this past season in college. He did start 20 games at the NCAA level, which could mean that Toronto aims to give him another chance in the rotation, but his control issues (135 walks in 261 1/3 career innings) could keep him in the bullpen long-term.

    Scouting Report

Ligon struggled at times in college, posting a career 4.97 ERA over four years and two schools. There is a good bit of strikeout ability, but control problems and walks have been an issue as well (198 strikeouts to 102 walks in 206 1/3 career innings).

Unlike the previous two selections, he is a surefire starter, having started 42 of his 56 college appearances, including all 15 in 2025 at Mississippi State. The Blue Jays will need to see how he fares the second and third time through the order at the lowest levels of the minors before making a final decision on his future path.

    Scouting Report

In 54 games at San Diego this past season, Smith managed a slash line of .353/412/.528. He is another player that has very good plate discipline, as he only had 17 strikeouts and 16 walks in 250 plate appearances. He only launched six home runs this past year, so expect him to be another contact hitter that needs to develop some power along his way up the minor leagues, especially since he stole only 13 bases in college and doesn't possess an elite outfield glove.

    Scouting Report

Spencer is an Indiana State transfer who is a 2025 senior. Although he’ll be 22 on draft day, he caught plenty of attention this season with some tweaks to his arsenal and his stuff taking a step forward for the Longhorns.

It’s a good frame for a starter although there’s a lot of effort in the delivery for me. His fastball will sit in the mid-90s, although he’s run it up to 97-98 mph in shorter stints or when he’s revved up. There’s a firm, upper 80s bullet slider that plenty of teams will value, in addition to a changeup he added this spring. He finished his 2025 season with 52.1 IP, a 3.89 FIP, a 29.3 K%, and a 10.2 BB%.

Spencer was dealt a major blow, missing the culmination of the 2025 season after shoulder surgery in late April.

    Scouting Report

Bullard is a prep outfielder out of Houston, currently committed to Texas A&M. He'll be on the older side of the prep class on draft day and is a prospect with a fairly wide range of rankings entering the end of the draft cycle.

The switch hitting outfielder is a great athlete with good projection at 6'2, 190. There's plenty of quickness and twitch in his frame and swing. Offensively, it's a gap-to-gap approach with strong bat-to-ball skills and an ability to use the entire field to his advantage. There's some strong supplementary tools, too. Bullard has plus speed, making him a threat on the base paths in addition to helping him cover plenty of ground in the outfield. While he might be a tough sign given his commitment, there's 4 tools here that profile as average or better.

    Scouting Report

Trace Baker played two seasons at UNC Wilmington, where he was predominantly a relief pitcher. 39 of his 41 appearances came out of the bullpen. In 2025, he rocked a 2.24 ERA, a 25% strikeout rate, and a 7% walk rate. Last year, his arsenal consisted of three pitches, a fastball in the mid 90s, a slider in the low 80s, and a mid 80s changeup.

Expect Baker to stick as a relief pitcher unless the Blue Jays have some crazy idea of converting him to a starter.

Noah Palmese is an off-the-radar pick, but reported pitch metrics on him look very promising. As of last year, he had a low-to-mid 90s fastball with 20 inches of iVB, a sinker in the low 90s, along with a slider and a splitter in the 80s. He might be a longer term project, but don't be shocked if the Blue Jays unlock some serious skills in his arm.

    Scouting Report

Jake Casey is yet another four year college player and despite him playing against lower competition, he has some good looking tools. He showed above average pop in the bat, hitting 17 home runs in 2025. He slashed a robust .356/.500/.736 and had an OPS of 1.236. He even stole 20 bases during his last season in college, making him a potential all-around threat and complete player.

Casey will have to show that his talents play up against tougher competition, so expect him to start off in the lowest level of the minor leagues and then he will dictate his future with how well or not as well he does against more formidable opponents.

There he was hampered by bad batting averages and low on-base rates until this season, when he really got locked in. He hit .329/.404/.523, with five home runs. It is another pick in this draft that kind of draws some double takes, but if the improvements stick, he could make for a very solid minor league catcher who will work to move up one level at a time in the minor leagues.

With their next to last selection in the draft, the Toronto Blue Jays went with Luke Kovach, a pitcher who played at Cal Poly. He is a skinny lefty on the mound who doesn't have a big fastball. To cap off the draft, the Toronto Blue Jays ended up selecting their fifth player out of high school. Ty Peeples has a good projectable frame and some noteworthy in-game power already. Perfect Game has him listed with a 94th percentile exit velocity for the 2025 class. He has some serious pop in his bat and a good approach for his age. He would be a great signing, but a commitment to play for the University of Georgia may make it difficult to get him to pro ball.
