Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 Yeah the current team is probably more "likeable". If that matters. Does not matter one bit. The 2015 will always be one of my favourites. I actually enjoy players who have fire even if it can cross the line on the field at times.
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 The bad boys teams were just so much fun to watch on the field. Donaldson with moments like the FYSMC from the dugout, Jose staring down the opposition on the field, Stroman with the shimmys and other assorted antics which pissed off the other team etc. Exactly how I felt. I really enjoyed the villain role at times when we were beating the crap out of teams. Don't gotta be nice all the time lol.
Laika Community Moderator Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 Jays in on Chris Taylor He would be awesome.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 Jays in on Chris Taylor What would it take 3 for 45ish or is that low I'm intrigued.
The_DH Verified Member Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 That we go... let's get this man!!! Didn't he have a no-trade to Toronto before? We did draft him as well and that didn't go through. Makes me think he could be using Toronto to drive up a price. Either that or the writers are making it up.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 Jays in on Chris Taylor Ideal If acquisition Good bat and can play anywhere while they figure out what to do with Biggio, Espinal, Groshans
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 Be happy with either or.. Both bring pluses the other does not.. Two targets that are Carlos Danger approved.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 Chris Taylor makes more sense between the two. I don't think the Jays can really afford too many more big FA contracts that run beyond 2025 if they want to extend existing young players. Taylor shouldn't get a huge commitment and he can play all over the field which will come in handy throughout the season. Although he hasn't played much 3B and that's where the Jays would need him to play for the most part.

Have him play 2nd and you can have biggio Espinal platoon situation till Moreno is ready to come up.
max silver Old-Timey Member Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 Taylor is a great fit for the Jays. I'm just not excited about Bryant as I really don't think he's likely to be worth the contract he's going to receive.

Biggio at 3B is not a good option, although I guess if it's short term until Moreno comes up, then it's doable.
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 Biggio at 3B is not a good option, although I guess if it's short term until Moreno comes up, then it's doable. Jays are trying to win in 2022 and I doubt they're ok with Biggio at 3rd if they're actually serious about that. The only starting position for Biggio is 2B on this team imo. He is backup level everywhere else on the diamond. I'm super confident the Jays will add a major IF.
wilko Old-Timey Member Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 That looks legit.................
Sorrow Verified Member Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 Baergra is the guy that broke Yimi Garcia and I think Semien, ex player so could be legit.
NiagaraJaysFan Verified Member Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 That looks legit................. My goodness. If that's legit, and Chris Taylor is as well, what the hell kind of all-star lineup will we be fielding next year? Man.

Taylor rumour seems legit The Freeman thing is nonsense based both on the "source" and the team's needs
NiagaraJaysFan Verified Member Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 Taylor rumour seems legit The Freeman thing is nonsense based both on the "source" and the team's needs Maybe, but the way the post starts out "Ultima hora" (last minute, breaking news) with fire emojis gives me pause. He's been right before earlier this off-season.
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 Oddly, Carlos Baerga has broken multiple signings in the past, for what it's worth.

He's been right before earlier this off-season. I LOVE Freddie Freeman but there's no way they move Vlad off 1B now, he's doing great there.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 I'm pretty sure Baerga broke the Semien signing. I'm equally sure that there's no chance the Jays are signing Freeman, but Baerga seems like an actual source. Probably just trolling.
max silver Old-Timey Member Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 I LOVE Freddie Freeman but there's no way they move Vlad off 1B now, he's doing great there. If we knew that Vlad could play at least a passable third base I'd jump at Freeman in an instant. Freeman vs Bryant would be far preferable to me as I think each player will likely obtain a similar contract in free agency.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 I LOVE Freddie Freeman but there's no way they move Vlad off 1B now, he's doing great there. part time 3rd, part time DH, part time 1st?
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 Feels like the Jays are just being name dropped on that one. Only way it works is if Vlad can play 3B again and I doubt they want to move him off of 1B.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 The only way I see Freeman signing in Toronto is if he's got some life long desire of winning a championship in Canada. 1 year deal where he and Vladdy spell each other between 1B and DH. And even that scenario is hard to buy. Would love to see it... But I just don't see it.
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 This only happens if everyone involved thinks Guerrero can head back to third. Otherwise I'd love Donaldson back. As for the douchebag comments, sure. But he wasn't the same level as Stroman. Donaldson was intense like Bautista. Maybe a bit of a bully to the FO. But he wasn't intentionally causing unsolicited public drama like Stroman was. He's doable on this roster if Atkins holds no grudges.
jerb Verified Member Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 Jon Heyman @JonHeyman Teams are trying to pry superstar 1B Freddie Freeman from Atlanta. Some say they still don’t think it will happen but r surprised he’s still free. Dodgers, who lost Seager and could move Muncy to 2B, may have best hope for SoCal product, NYY, TOR (h/t Carlos Baerga) reached out.
