Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 You could say that about any athlete man... Nah. Pitchers can be productive after TJS and power hitters after brain surgery
reedjohnsonfan Verified Member Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Hamilton honestly reminds me of Pillar on roids. Worse hitter, better defender and base runner. If he could hit/had a decent OBP he would probably destroy the league. Already 44 SB and putting up 1.6 WAR on his defense/running alone. At 52 wRC+ that is amazing. That is really crazy. He's a terrible hitter IMO but that speed makes him very valuable. Would be an ideal #9 hitter, if there is a such thing.

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Brewers 'willing to trade' OF Carlos Gomez Only if someone overpays. He's not a free agent until next year.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Talking about #9 hitters, what about Mike Trout? He'd be OK too
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 1. Henderson 2. Dimmagio 3. Bonds 4. Ruth 5. Aaron 6. Williams 7. Griffey Jr 8. Gehrig 9. Trout Bench: Musial, Cobb, Thomas (pinch hitter only), Mays (defensive replacement only)
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 ^ Someone has to learn to play @ catcher

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 One of these players don't belong with the others Yes. It's Dimmagio with two ms. Especially in the two spot.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Brewers 'willing to trade' OF Carlos Gomez Would be an amazing addition, but the cost would be way too high. Plus he's a huge douche
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Who is more overrated Griffey Jr or Jeter?
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Who is more overrated Griffey Jr or Jeter? Is Griffey really overrated? He was pretty boss before injuries derailed him.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Who is more overrated Griffey Jr or Jeter? Griffey has 630 career home runs, just shy of 3k career hits, was a great defender up until the last few years of his career, and put up 77.7 WAR. I'm not sure how he could be significantly overrated. I don't think Jeter deserves most of the crap he gets around here either. He shouldn't have won some of the GG he did, and he should have been moved off SS a number of years ago. I'm not sure you can blame him for either of those things though.
mellowgold Verified Member Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Who is more overrated Griffey Jr or Jeter? Jeter, easily. Griffey was amazing his first few years in Seattle.
reedjohnsonfan Verified Member Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Exactly Barry Bonds is the ideal #9 hitter You just can't get 9 of him Of course, but you know what I meant... Not good enough to hit lead off over Reyes and they wouldn't put him in an RBI spot. To be honest I really dislike Billy Hamilton lol.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 One of these players don't belong with the others I know He's just my favorite. LOL.

Didn't Griffey take the least amount of ABs to reach 500 HRs of any player? I don't see how he's overrated. He was a great hitter who ran into injury problems. Agree completely on Jeter. The guy is an automatic hall of famer. Defensive metrics don't like him but so what? He was a great hitter playing SS and also was a true leader of the Yanks.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Of course, but you know what I meant... Not good enough to hit lead off over Reyes and they wouldn't put him in an RBI spot. To be honest I really dislike Billy Hamilton lol. I know exactly what you meant, was just being silly. I thought Gose was going to become a "good number 9 hitter" too. He hasn't yet.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Jeter, easily. Griffey was amazing his first few years in Seattle. Also there's a *slight* problem that my lineup is pretty much all outfielders. That team could use Jeter. At 2B. LOL

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Is Griffey really overrated? He was pretty boss before injuries derailed him. Overrated. He was not Bonds level.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Bob Nightengale The #Reds have not packaged Cueto and Chapman in any proposals so far, preferring separate deals, if they do decide to move their closer.
Laika Community Moderator Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Overrated. He was not Bonds level. Nobody thinks he was. In his prime though, he wasn't much different than Mike Trout. Definitely not overrated...
TilsonBritoFan Verified Member Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Who is more overrated Griffey Jr or Jeter? This is perhaps the dumbest question ever asked. Griffey was one of the greatest ever.
TilsonBritoFan Verified Member Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Overrated. He was not Bonds level. U trolling us, bro?
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 This is perhaps the dumbest question ever asked. Griffey was one of the greatest ever. Nobody said he wasn't great but he doesn't belong with those other names.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 U trolling us, bro? Bonds is the greatest ever, Griffey jr doesn't hold a candle to him
