What I mean is there are some guys who don't project to have elite short stop defense, but could do the job, as Bichette did for many years, their defense scores sort of neutral and they can still be a 5 WAR player, and not totally piss the pitchers off. 

Then there are guys like Russ Adams who was throwing that s*** into the stands 5 times a week, and just wasn't playable. 

I get the feeling Parker is the former since the talk is move him to 3rd.  I don't know for sure though.

One thing we can say about this trade... nobody saw it coming from Atkins. 

Soriano being moved...sure. But to Toronto? After the Gausman trade?

Wonder how the reaction would be if the Soriano trade came first... OMG we're buying??? STUPID ATKINS!!!

Sucks we have to keep trading prospects for starting pitching since we can’t develop any. Also, our offense sucks and doesn’t seem like there’s anything in the system to look forward to. Seems like they are trying to turn us into Cleveland with good starting pitching (although they seem to be able to develop their own pitchers) and a weak offense.

Didn’t really think much of Arjun. He was awful  last year but had a resurgence as a prospect this Season and got himself to AA. Intriguing tools and build but he could honestly go either way. Probably good idea for Atkins to cash out on him.

Soriano's pitch usage is about as even as you're going to see. For this year he's thrown his sinker 27% of the time, curve 26%, 4 seamer 24% and splitter 19% (also mixing in the odd slider at 5%). He has higher end FB velocity but it appears to be the off speed stuff driving his success

I never really understood the Nimmala hype, but I also don't think Soriano is more than a 3/4 who frustrates people with how often his command isn't there. So meh I guess.

Soriano is a lot like Cease.  If he learns to attack the strike zone better, there's more juice to squeeze out of him.

Does suck losing one of the few prospects that were touted to actually make a difference in the majors but this team needed young arms for 2027 and beyond too.  

We need to pull off a similar trade but for a great middle of the order bat.  Does Atkins have enough ammo to make that happen too?

Finally a trade that has some intriguing insight out of Atkins outside the Varland trade , or maybe Shapiro was the brains behind it. Nimmala's swing looks a bit long and I always feared he wouldn't be able to hit MLB spin. I like the fact that the SP will be set up for at least the next few years, nice trade.

You can take the brackets away from Ponce's name. He's most certainly in the rotation next year if the knee is healthy, which it's expected to be.  That's a nice looking rotation, although walks will be frustrating.

Atkins track record with 99% of his prospects is horrible considering hes been here for 10+ years lol.  Just havent produced enough high impact prospects in the majors.

Yeah Detmers would have been real nice to slot right behind Cease. Would have also been nice to have a southpaw in this rotation, and Detmers comes with more upside.
