Soroka pitched last night. Jays Got Dis'

I heard that. Also heard he got smacked around but i haven't seen the line. AA said he wants him to be sitting around 95 before they move him up.

In the off season he works out at the Coyotes Den here in Calgary. There is one guy here who catches him. His indoor bullpens are standing room only.

ERAs after tonight

Gausman- 3.38

Kikuchi- 3.35

Bassitt- 3.49

Manoah- 4.83

Berrios- 4.91 (3.23 FIP)

When you cram them all together, it’s probably really close to expectations

This is direct result of 2 terrible managers who overuse the Bullpen.

I'm guessing Brandon Morrow was the last CGSO

I remember one month he had two of them

I believe it was Stroman against the Cubs. That 8-0 game if im not mistaken

Stro allowed a run in his complete game. The last CG/shutout was Mark Beurhle in 2015 against the Nationals.

Buehrle was definitely one of the most watchable Jays pitchers I can remember

Buehrle

Halladay

Morrow

Burnett

Gausman

Estrada

Stroman

These guys were all fun to watch.

Bassitt is getting there for me too.

I don’t ever remember Morrow being fun to watch. From my memory he was like an extreme version of Berrios. 12 Ks one game, then can’t find the strike zone next game. And he was injured like 50% of every season he was with the Jays

I also always enjoyed Aaron Sanchez starts caught by JPA

When Morrow had his good stuff/command he was as enjoyable to watch as any Jays pitcher I can remember. He could carve up hitters with a devastating two pitch mix of upper 90's fastball and wipeout slider.

Morrow was electric it’s too bad he was never really able to put it all together.

Amazing how much the game has changed to the point that every CG is such a big deal now

I'd forgotten about Beurhle's too

Morrow's big year was 2012. when he had 3 CG shutouts by early June. Sucked to watch his ups and downs and injuries after that.

Shiiit that 8-0 cubs shutout I was thinking of was in 2014. Time f***ing flies man

He put it all together one start, struck out 17 in a complete game 1 hitter, with the one hit glancing off a diving Aaron Hill’s glove with 2 outs in the 9th. Probably the single best pitching performance by a Jays pitcher ever.

That was a great series overall too, they swept the Rays in the Longoria, Crawford and Zobrist days, Cecil went 7 innings of 1 run, 4 hit ball in game 1…Arencibia made his mashing debut in game 2, then Morrows historic gem in game 3

Peak Morrow was like having Spencer Strider. Yeah, it never lasted long but it was still fun while it lasted

Did Paul Beeston really stop the Jays from being moved to the AL Central?

You know how different the last 20 years would be if we were in the Central? That 20 year period where we didn't contend from 1994-2014 would have looked very different. If nothing else changed we would have won several AL Central crowns but with the weaker competition I could see ownership putting more money into the team and winning even more.

He did actually. Probably figured more revenue from games against the Yanks, Red Sox, O's.

Goddamn what an idiot he was

Beeston handcuffed this team for 2 decades. He had all those weird contract rules as well like not giving out more than 5-year contracts which took us out of any real spending for a long time. And the fact that he wouldn't deal with Scott Boras simply because he didn't like him. The only good thing he did was help bring back the Blue Jays jerseys we have today.

I know Swanson has been great and he was brought in for high leverage scenarios. But it would be sick if John S would actually just bring him to start innings instead of letting things become a dumpster fire and expecting him to put it out.

His last 2 appearances

Bases loaded with 0 outs.

Bases loaded with 1 out.

Both scenarios should have started the inning.

A few more regular season home games against the Yankees and Red Sox > consistent playoff revenue

Makes sense.

Who knows what the revenue models were like back then.
