Isn't Bieber confirmed to be pitching?

Edit: There's an article on Sportsnet about it. I assume they would know.

Yes.  Bieber, Berrios, Gausman

Interesting, I think ESPN initially had that order as well but now they have Berrios and Bieber switched.

Either way, there's no question we have the pitching advantage in this series, pretty optimistic about this one.

Santander is also supposed to start a rehab today. Can't afford any more setbacks at this point so hopefully it's onward and upward from here.

I was looking at the minor league schedule for the Jays today and noticed that the lower level teams are all finished for the season. The team generally liked to let the rehabbing players get their feet wet a bit in Dunedin before sending them up to AAA but Santander is going to be forced to go straight to the upper minors for his rehab stint. I recall that it was mentioned that Santander's right handed swing was a long ways behind his left handed swing at the moment so perhaps he'll be forced to hit primarily left handed for the rest of the season if he can't get the right handed swing up to speed in time.

The Jays are certainly receiving a bit of a favorable pitching matchup in this series as they miss Brown and Valdez. I feel the key will be limiting the damage that Alvarez produces at the plate as it's felt like he's been murder on Blue Jays pitchers in past seasons. Alvarez's numbers are down at the moment but he's sporting a fearsome .412 xwOBA at the moment so he appears to be a strong candidate for positive regression.

I guess the guy who was calling Bo a massive pussy after he missed the final game of the Yankees series and then proceeded with a full bore character assassination owes Bo a bit of an apology at this point.

Give me his number and I'll sincerely apologize.

Dammit. Losing Bo during this stretch is a significant hit.

I hope that doesn't mean IKF is a starter. Against RHP they can start Loperfido and Barger (3B) and put Clement at SS. Which is what is happening tonight.

I'll throw up if IKF starts 7 of the next 9 or whatever.

Only bright side is this might be a defensive upgrade short term since Clement is >>> Bo at SS.

Expecting a rational thought from his isn't wise.

Big blow for the Jays.  Hopefully Loperfido can regain the success BABIP luck he had before his demotion, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

Hoping this results in more regular at bats for Davis Schneider and not IKF.

It should also be noted that Bo Bichette is a complete pussy.

His next contract demands include a lifetime supply of vagisil to keep it from drying up again.

Missed one of the most important games of the season with ouchie-itis.

He basically has a bruise with a small cut. It's not an injury that will get worse like a hamstring or a groin. Literally an ouchie.

I had a giant knot on my shin in high school once and ran a race in pain. So now we're supposed to baby a professional athlete in a game that could help decide the division? Especially when winning the division could have a huge impact on our playoffs overall.

I'd love to hear your explanation as to how this is acceptable in any way from a well-paid franchise type professional athlete.

The only thing softer than athletes these days are fans.

If Bo says he wants to play he's playing. He played yesterday after the injury and Schneider indicated it's that time of year where you got to play through things.

Let me ask you this, why is he running like he aged 10 years this year? It's because he's protecting his legs for free agency so he can get the bag. Does it benefit the Jays that he's healthy? Sure, but that's not his priority. Bo is playing for Bo this year. He's playing for the bag and I guarantee you his father's influence is all over it.

You want to give him a great player free pass go ahead. If he insisted on playing this game he would have. It's strictly a pain management injury.

The Jays need Vladdy to really step up and carry this team.  He has the capacity.  Maybe someone else will go on a tear.  Damn what a loss.

He looked pretty good against the Yanks.

So I guess Clement becomes our shortstop, Barger becomes our third baseman.

Who's our backup shortstop? Gimenez?

Or IKF

IKF is starting at least half of the games Bo is missing. Most likely more. I agree though tonight's lineup is good given the circumstances. Hopefully it stays that way and IKF is just a late inning defensive replacement, but love is a powerful emotion, and the Jays LOVE IKF.
