I'm guessing Lucas pitches once through the order and we all need to butt clench through that, than all hands on deck after that, with a day off tomorrow, the leash should be short with Easton.

Gore just got finished carving up the Phillies so this will be a tough matchup to say the least. At least our slap hitters don't strike out so there's a chance for some BABIP magic.

Need some power from the 1-3 spots

Bo has a wRC+ 167, he's been excellent as a table setter thus far.
They certainly need some SLG from Santander and Vlad.

Yeah, but it's incredibly difficult to pick up wins against premium pitching trying to string singles together. You know that.

Vlad and Santander specifically need to start hitting for power. It's nice that some unexpected pop from Gimenez has shown up, and Heineman, but they need it from the guys who are supposed to provide it too.

Jays have the same amount of team HRs that the Yankees hit in 1 inning a game or two ago. That has to change.

I agree.  It will come!

Extremely small sample aside, the power should come from the other guys, don't forget about George Springer though Big John, he's been excellent so far.

Who'd a thunk that?

These Jays are hitting the ball hard and rarely striking out, I think this offense is set up really well, love the approach of both Wagner and Roden.

It's definitely looking like a deeper lineup than most of us were expecting :)

Vlad has an unusual issue this season in that his launch angle is actually a bit too high as he's getting under the ball too much. The exit velo is excellent as per usual, hopefully he can level the swing out a bit as he appears to be attempting to lift a bit too much. With Santander he's a notorious slow starter for his career but the power should come eventually. He has a career 84 wRC+ over Mar/Apr for his career with only 12 career home runs.

The Jays winning today would be the most baseball thing ever considering the pitching matchup and the lineup, which includes the Murderers Row bottom 4 of Clement, Schneider, Heineman, and Straw.

Their best hitters are all left-handed or switch hitters with left-handed splits so hopefully Lucas can eat 3 to 4 innings

Barnes is going to have to pitch too, hopefully he can throw a scoreless inning. If he doesn't it could be his last in a Jays uni.

Good thing the game is played in a Dome, terrible thunder snow storm happening right now with huge wind gusts.

I'd be surprised if even 15K make it to the game.

Glad we won the first 2 games because the Gore will be brought today. Especially with that less than ideal pitching match up. I would like to think they could do better than Easton Lucas at this point of the Season but here we are.

That's second on the team in HR, Tyler Heineman to you sir.

Yeah freezing rain after, and then it'll be 16 degrees celsius tomorrow, lol.

This feels a lot like last year when most of the better rotation depth options started the season on the injured list.

The Kawartha Lakess are in a state of emergency due to the ice storms. Those people have been without power for 5 days. Those cream puffs in Toronto have it easy.

Hate to be that guy but makes you wonder what really happened with Yarbrough because we are already here. Especially considering apparently they aren’t going to use Y-Rod in Long Relief.

More fuel for the h8rs to say nobody cares about the Jays

What happened with Yarbrough is everyone in the rotation was healthy to begin the season and they did a replacement level veteran a solid by allowing him to find an open opportunity elsewhere. It's not that hard to reason jfc. There wasn't some conspiracy against Ryan Yarbrough, he's awful and throws 86 so they thought they could easily replace him internally if the opportunity presented itself.

He’s always been a pitch over stuff guy. It never made sense but projections have never liked him and he just always out performs them.

The real question you have to ask yourself is would you rather have him make this spot start or Easton Lucas. It really does just come down to that.

I'll reserve judgment on who I'd rather see pitch between Lucas and Yarbrough until I've actually seen Lucas pitch. He did produce pretty decent numbers in AAA last season and his stuff+ numbers look decent as well so he may prove to be a cromulent depth rotation option.
