dineke Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2021 Posted October 3, 2021 Brad Hand and Dolis come to mind. Those f***ing f***ers. Not even on the team anymore. Guess you can be mad at Atkins but thats bullpens every year. You throw stuff at the wall and some are good and some are shitbags.
thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2021 Posted October 3, 2021 Yeah seriously. It's almost embarrassing the team didn't make the playoffs given how many things went right this year. To expect even half of the good things that happened in 2021 to carry over to 2022 is asking a lot. On top of that I fully expect Charlie to get extended now, so I don't want to hear a single "it was fun to be in it in September" excuse. These types of opportunities don't come around often, and the Jays were easily a WS contender if they made it. I hate everything right now. But you can expect them to play more actual home games and probably *fingers crossed* have a better bullpen.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2021 Posted October 3, 2021 Several weeks? They sucked for all of June and July... So clearly Shatkins sat on their hands too long, and Dumtoyo kept running Dolis ("He was good last year") out there.
Ryu In My House Verified Member Posted October 3, 2021 Posted October 3, 2021 What about Tyler Shatwood He was soooo terrible. But they had other options when he was terrible.
AMS528 Verified Member Posted October 3, 2021 Posted October 3, 2021 Agreed with people saying that you can't expect a repeat of all the performances. Vlad may not be at this level next year. Semien will probably not be here. Ray if he's back may only have a ERA around 3 which would be great. Which is why they should really spend this summer. Replace Semien effectively for sure. If there's a way to get Jose Ramirez they should really go for it.

I blame the actual players. Those f***ers.

Finishing 8 wins below expected run diff. Not even getting to play home games half the year.
RobinThicc Verified Member Posted October 3, 2021 Posted October 3, 2021 Well, I hope this just pushes them to stack even more talent on the roster. Go be the Dodgers lol
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2021 Posted October 4, 2021 I don't want to read any "it was a fun season" ********. This season was agony 2/3 of the time and ended up as perhaps the biggest waste of talent / production in baseball history. Cy Young winner. MVP candidate. Record setting second baseman. Phenomenal rotation health. Franchise shortstop playing like one. And they end up as "the best 4th place team in baseball history" as their only solace. Just awful. Absolutely f***ing right. I’m gonna snap if I get anymore “we’ll at least they fought back at the end of the season to get close” texts from buds.

We all knew it was a terrible trade from the moment it was reported. Hand looked awful this entire season even before he was traded.

Effit Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2021 Posted October 4, 2021 I’m still depressed. Can’t wait for the WC game so I can celebrate one of those douchebag teams getting eliminated.

As a baseball fan, Yanks/Sox wildcard game is about as good as it gets Yeah, if the Jays weren't going to make it, then I'm fine with NYY/BOS from a baseball fan standpoint. It's the biggest rivalry in the sport (even though it's not as intense as it used to be) and should be a great atmosphere at Fenway. But as mentioned, it will be on ESPN, so will have to watch it on mute. If anything, I'm actually rooting for whoever wins the WC game to take out the Rays.

A lot of things went right but don't forget Springer played half a season, the bullpen was horrid for 3 months and the Jays had no real home games for most of the year. They were just rounding into form and I think whould have been a formidable opponent in the playoffs.f*** I hate the Sux and Yanks.

TheHurl Site Manager Posted October 4, 2021 Posted October 4, 2021 Sucked a lot. But Yankees and Sox plus Dodgers and Cards (probably the 4 most storied clubs in baseball in wild card games is good for baseball...all to be ruined (along with all baseball) when the TB Rays win their first WS. RaysUp Bitches
King Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2021 Posted October 4, 2021 Sports is scripted theatre. Clearly. I used to have emotions regarding outcomes of games until I became a young adult and eventually I realized it’s not very organic, like a lot of other high dollar industries in life. Also, whatever the outcome is that happens, has zero to do with what I’m accomplishing or failing at in life. It’s not a coincidence that New York and Boston are in the Wild Card while not really being anywhere close to the talent level of Toronto. Plus, nobody in the real world keeps their job making daily mistakes the way the wonderful McDonald’s, I mean American League MOY does. You just can’t take most of this stuff at face value. Everything is about appearances and not much else anymore in the West. Especially if you work for a super puss org like Rogers. Work, invest wisely, get a good partner if you’re lucky and die. There you go. Good luck all. lol
