Nothing like whining like a bitch on Twitter to some random's comments to prove that you are the glue.

P.S. what kind of narcissist calls themselves the glue to keep a team together? Did Kawhi do that? Did Matthews do that? No. That's a compliment you use for others to spread around credit.

P.P.S. Bob needs to stop being such a sissy sensitive femboy blocking half the board so he stops looking like an idiot with his repetitive posts.

You bringing up Matthews and Kawhi is pretty irrelevant, I see what you're trying to say though.

I’ll never forget my utter confusion and excitement seeing each of the following moves happen out of nowhere:

- the trade for Reyes, Buehrle +

- Dickey trade + extension (didn’t like the pieces involved but it was still super exciting)

- Donaldson trade

- Martin signing

- Tulowitzki trade

- Price trade (this one had me grinning like an idiot all day)

Most of those moves didn’t work out in the long run but damn they were f***ing exciting and came literally out of nowhere.

Also, AA would have destroyed the team further if given the chance. Imagine if that Bautista extension (100mil+) had happened in spring training that one year. Or a Donaldson extension.

If it was up to AA we would be paying Bautista and Donaldson 20 million a year for the next 5 years.

Im fine with trading Stroman.

Not so sure he would have done the Bautista extension. I think he would have done a Donaldson extension. I think we all might have..

To the above though you are right, very exciting moves and they came out of nowhere.

I would even add the Wells trade, Lind for Estrada, Happ for Saunders, which at the time seemed cool and bunch of others..

Lol the dude actually wants to stay. They better get a good package for him or he definitely should of been extended.

Imagine one of your coworkers referring to himself as the glue that holds the team together and how happy you’d be when he was fired.

Bob is probably the random fan on Twitter. Who else but the British use the word rubbish? You can always tell the Brits because they will refer to the game a as match. I say Jeeves, what time does the Blue Jays vs Yankees match start? Jolly good performance by the bowler, I mean pitcher Borucki. Hip hip, hurray!

I think Stroman's teammates probably like him and his personality a lot more than posters here do even if he calls himself the glue. He's a gamer, always gives props to his teammates, and cheers them on even during a tanking season. Contrast that with someone like Sanchez who is not nearly as outspoken but seems like much more of a douchebag.

I don't know why Stro is so hated here. No doubt responding to a random fan's tweet is a bit much, but baseball needs more players like him.

I like Bob. Some of you guys are real sensitive weaklings, letting minor little things bother you so much.

Birds of a feather flock together I see.

Bob is the guy who comes on strong and critical and then puts everyone on ignore so there is no debate.

To your credit Jim, you hang in there for the debate and are NOT so sensitive as old Foreskin to criticism...

Dick is absolutely right though.. It has happened on many occasion. We will be talking about a subject for half-day and 20 plus posts and then Bob will come on and post the same thing again like it is breaking news. He does that because he has half the board on ignore and missed the previous 6 hours of posting.

BJMB is a discussion/chat board. He likes to enter debates and controversial topics, throw stones, then he runs away and iggies everyone because he is the sensitive little flower..

Yeah if he was ripping his teammates and saying "I'm the only one who is trying" etc, but he doesn't do that. He's passionate, which no doubt winds up opponents but not teammates, and promotes himself and his team. I suspect he's one of the more popular players in the clubhouse.

This, 100%.

I don't dislike Ashby or Grisham from that suggested trade but want absolutely nothing to do with the other two.

Teams are too scared to make win-now moves with so many other teams in contention. And your prize is a one game playoff.

Of course there is an easy solution. Just make the regular season shorter and add more playoff teams/games like every other sport. More teams in contention, more transactions, more fan interest, less tanking. More money for the win-now vets who were crying all year because more teams are now trying to win. Seems like a win-win all around.

You got the Giants on a sick heater, in a great market, but their head of ops is a friggin quant so he knows the smart thing is to probably NOT go for it and instead sell. The dynamics of the sport are all just completely off IMO.

But wait, hold on, I think in order to increase interest we should first try ingenious innovations like stealing first base. Ya that's it.

I unequivocally do not want it to be easier to make the playoffs in the MLB.

some dooozies from Fangraphs.

Most notably, "the Milwaukee Brewers acquire P Marcus Stroman from the Toronto Blue Jays for SS Mauricio Dubon, OF Trent Grisham, P Aaron Ashby, and 2B Travis Shaw". I mean f***ing barf.

I don't like it that much because there's no real impact player/prospect, but it's two 45s, a 35+/40 and a player coming off consecutive 3.5 win seasons who's controllable under 2022, projects as an average hitter, can play a good 3B and an average 2B. It's really not as bad as you guys think.

I mean - you're probably right. I actually like the idea of Shaw. Play him at 3rd, move Vlad to 1st and hope he can return to a 2.5+ WAR player. Stat scouting - I like Trent Grisham too. Former 15th overall pick. Looks like he made adjustments or something clicked this year as he's been a beast in AA/AAA. High BB%, low K%. 22 years old. Great secondary piece IMO. Just lacking that Top 100 prospect you expect if you're moving Stro. Maybe need a 3rd team to make it work.

Top 75 prospect + Grisham + Shaw for Stro would be pretty nice.

Really hope we get something great for Giles and Stroman...no selling low

Stick to your guns, someone will get desperate close to the deadline. There's not that many good arms available this year.

I just don't want waiting to bite us in the ass again. Both Stro and Giles have looked great recently. This should be peak value. The fear of holding on too long is still lingering. Last year scarred me.

The Rockies literally just added Yonder Alonso to be their 1B. Potential Justin Smoak destination?

Also, they ended up DFA’ing Seung Hwan Oh (trade him for Forrest Wall)

Why do so many assume we waited too long last year? We have zero idea if there was a better time to deal the pieces we did.

Isn't Daniel Murphy their first baseman? Alonso in Coors might be able to put up some decent power numbers. But he essentially replaces Mark Reynolds as a power bat off the bench.

Jays likely wouldn't get a lot for Smoak from Colorado. They won't give up anything of value. Don't think you're getting a Jon Gray or anyone like that.

I still think we could end up getting a 40-45 FV guy for him, which isn't nothing (and you never know who's gonna pan out).

Yonathan Daza for Smoak and maybe a reliever like Hudson? Daza apparently has a 70 arm, 65 field, and has intriguing enough minor league numbers.

If the Padres or the Twins actually offer that, accept, and then hang up the telephone.
