Life is never boring with him for sure. Jenkins is a twot. He changes managers more frequently than some people change underwear. Big Dave got the shaft for sure. I thought Steve Clarke got sacked far too early as well. I'm not the most knowledgeable about football, but people seem to love Slaven so hopefully we'll get promoted this year so I can watch some matches again. It's pretty tough to watch the championship in Canada.

I went to our first game today, 3-0 down after 30 mins haha. Farsley ended up winning 3-1 (Darlington fan, in the National League North).

This thread is supposed to be for trade deadline talk I don't mind it at all. It's interesting to hear from fans from around the world. And I'd rather threads be a bit more fluid than just the general Blue Jays thread, around baseball thread etc.
flafson Verified Member Posted August 4, 2019 Posted August 4, 2019 The Sanchez trade really bothers me. Front office believes their advanced analytics team found a hidden gem nobody knows about in Fisher which is fine, but if he’s so hidden why overpay for him by sending both Sanchez and Biagini? Either he’s not so hidden and a known commodity which I doubt because I didn’t see anyone write about him ever or what I think is more likely, Atkins is so bad at negotiating that the Astros were able to sell to Atkins that because Fisher has elite peripherals, if you only consider average exit velocity and ignore everything else that tells you his ceiling is AAAA.

I would love making deals with some of you. Fisher was a Top 100 prospect 2 years ago. Everyone should know who he is. Biagini is just a dude...an EASILY replaceable dude. Sanchez hasn't been anything of importance since 2016. If after 3 years of piss poor production (and regression to be frank) you're not ready to cut bait, then congratulations on your team needing 10 years to rebuild.

I understand your point of view but I see a few things slightly different. Biagini to me is nobody sure, but so is Fisher. Pompey was also top 100 prospect, you don’t see him being traded for a similar package. As to Sanchez, he’s mostly been bad when he was injured and trying to play through it, there is plenty in there to suggest it’s too early to give up on him, especially after he got a few good starts under his belt. Is it a small sample size? Sure but makes more sense to at least wait until the end of the season to get a bigger sample size, it’s not like we got a huge return for him that we had to take now or never.
