Man if both Osuna and Sanchez remain in the pen this is a pretty solid top 4 along with Cecil and now Storen. Loup is fine as a middle reliever too.

I like this trade but I'm pretty sure Storen broke his hand at the end of last year. Also he faultered in the second half. In a game that asks 'what have you done for me lately' this might be something to keep an eye on.

He had some HR issues in the second half and gave up 11 runs in August (gave up three HR's...which is magnified as a late inning reliever of course). He also struck out 29 in 21 innings. Also he just got replaced by Pap.

Because you sure as f*** don't create the mythical "sustainable winner" by putting your best pitching prospects in the bullpen. People act like Osuna was Mariano Rivera. He had a 3.00 FIP. He was a good reliever. We just effectively replaced him with Storen.

 

I'm seeing people post bullpen mock ups with Sanchez as our third right handed reliever in the pen. Do they realize that is pretty much the least valuable position he can occupy on the major league roster? We're going to give up on him as a starter so that he can pitch the 6th inning or set up when Storen/Osuna needs a rest? You could sign like 3 or 4 guys in free agency right now who could do that.
