RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Honestly I'd take our pen with Storen over Yankees. I know that's crazy but I have a feeling Chapman is about to go off the deep end fast with his troubles
jaysguy44 Old-Timey Member Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 That's Blair saying "oh f*** there is Jays news...I need to come up with something quick" Hahaha
TheHurl Site Manager Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Storen closing...Saves like $3M over Osuna's 4 arbitration years.

rydermike Verified Member Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Source: Dickey for Noah is imminent I looked at your post for a solid 15 seconds thinking who's Noah, until it hit me that it's not a last name, but a first name and is Syndergaard lol
Nafro Verified Member Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Do you probably qualify Storen next off-season?
GreekFatAss Verified Member Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Do you probably qualify Storen next off-season? Depends on the season he has.

baseballsss Verified Member Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Do you probably qualify Storen next off-season? If he kills it then yah you prob do. With EE Bautista and Storen free agents thats a lot of first round draft picks that could be had.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Do you probably qualify Storen next off-season? Probably not. A 16 million 1-year deal for a reliever is kinda scary
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 What mods Dude shot a gun last year. Name me some pro athletes that have one incident and stop there
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Really like this trade. Another plus is that gibbons can't have revere lead off anymore. I'd like to see Bautista lead off although the chances aren't high.
baseballsss Verified Member Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Probably not. A 16 million 1-year deal for a reliever is kinda scary If he has a good year someone will easily pay him 40 mil. There's a relief pitcher fetish goin on right not.

Key22 Verified Member Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 I don't get this trade. Pick up $9million pitcher...countless free agent relievers for close to the same money who are just as good...or very close to being as good. Could have signed one of them. Then traded Revere for a couple of or even just one good prospect to restock the farm. Indeed, they could have signed One of the $17 million dollar starters such as Chen or the Shark or Lagos, traded Revere to offset the money and kept Hendriks for league minimum. Plus there is a PTBNL...which is probably going to make us all rage.

rydermike Verified Member Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Dickey for Syndergaard; I don't think so. Clearly it was a joke, and not serious, considering we traded Syndergaard for Dickey years ago.
aselvana Verified Member Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 another deal i found out while im at croc roc. hmmm

Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 I'd almost just have Storen close. As has been mentioned, if he were to get 40 saves next year we might be able to sneak a QO in. Also, like Hurl said it weirdly would keep Osuna's arb numbers down.
Laika Community Moderator Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 I like this trade because it makes BTS look stupid
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted January 9, 2016 Author Posted January 9, 2016 I like this trade because it makes BTS look stupid ...... and black. Black and stupid sounds like Dusty Baker or Ron Washington
flafson Verified Member Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Revere is a 2 WAR outfielder and Storen is a 1 WAR closer. Revere makes 6.7M and has 2 years of control, Storen makes 8.8M and has 1 year of control. Needs to be quite a bit of money coming back to be worth it honestly...
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 So it's basically Storen + 2M for Revere and a PTBNL? As long as it isn't a significant prospect, that seems like a pretty good deal.
Effit Old-Timey Member Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Rev is a cool little guy but I like this trade. Team feels more balanced now. I wonder where Storen would've ranked in our hottest Jays contest.

Pompey is going to surpass Revere easily this coming season. The thing is.... Revere vs Pompey, no Revere vs Storen
TheHurl Site Manager Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 I'd also like to point out that I feel vindicated in calling Rizzo a complete idiot all these years. Although I guess I can't call him National League Anthopoulos any more.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Anyone see Gibby NOT giving Storen the "closer" role? I'm fairly certain Storen will close. Osuna will be the 8th inning guy, and Cecil will be the high-leverage guy like last year. Sanchez will be stretched out as a starter.
