It's only money, get the best while you can,  salary cap is always a possibility and it will end the big market supremacy.

You are signing off on complaining less for other holes on the team if you back moves like this.  Thats part of the fan contract lol

8*40 = 320
10*32 = 320

You could think about B as A with deferrals.

Yeah if those are the options (same/similar dollar value just a 1-2 year difference) then take the 10 years and live with the consequences. Would much rather have the shorter years plus deferrals to lessen the AAV but obviously the player would have to agree with that and not all players would.

How would y'all feel about 9 for $350mil?

I don't think the Jays will offer him a higher AAV than Vladdy (after deferral adjustment). If that's straight up, I can't see them doing more than 10/$350.

I think things are way to noisy on the Blue Jays front and dead silent on the Dodger front. Which makes me think he will be a Dodger come Friday.

There you have it folks. He put it in writing.

I look forward to the mods strictly enforcing this legally binding contract this year.

Haha I actually want Bo but would be ecstatic if we got Tucker.  The only thing that could dampen that is a crazy contract like 400/10 but even then, that "complaining" would be saved for another time.

We can try to "figure out" what's happening, but whatever happens, will happen.

Hey we have guys making bids on the contract and thinking silence means he's going to sign somewhere or another.  None of us know anything and we're not part of the contract negotiation.  There could be a ton of reasons we don't know about.

Don’t get your panties in a knot that it isn’t Jeff Passan I’m posting

Has he posted anything correct in recent times?

Somehow has 9k gullible followers who believe he's actually a source and risking it all on a 50/50 chance of being right about Tucker. I mean, it's probably worth it for him if there's monetization involved with a higher follower count. Shoot your shot.

Is going after Bellinger if a Tucker deal doesn't materialize a realistic possibility? He can play a decent CF also as insurance with Varsho. I haven't been digging in as much as the rest of you.

Bellinger is just a bizarre free agent. His seasons have been so up and down and his splits (L v R and home v road) in recent years are all over the place. He also looks like a stoner.

I don't really want him on a deal like he is rumoured to get (5 years+ $30m+)

I would assume he's a minus CF going forward as well

Not really sure why anyone would be surprised at a $400m long term contract. That is what I assumed it would be coming into the off season.

If you would have asked me who I would prefer after the 2024 season to give a long term contract to between Vlad and Tucker, I was all in on Tucker. Vlad was showing to be inconsistent and was still not great at 1b.

I think there is a lot of recency bias (or 1 yr sample) of Vlad vs Tucker that makes people think that Tucker should be getting a lot less.

If you want to be the bride and not always the bridesmaid you have to step up. These high 3, 4, 500 million plus contracts are the reality in a market that is not in a vacuum and is a competitive market economy.

Don't just settle for putting in the tip. Go balls in on players like this!

I believe if we do get Tucker, our spring training location will be a big factor.

Remember when the number one reason Halladay wanted to go to the Phillies was that he lived in Clearwater and their spring training was in proximity.

Listening to lots of MLVB players talk about it, and it is definitely a thing.

The Mets are in Florida but in Port St Lucie est (3hrs +) on the south east coast vs Tampa on the west central coast from where Tucker lives.

The Jays are the closest ST facility to where he lives of the Teams in the mix, with the Dodgers being in AZ of course,

Everytime a report like this comes out my dad will call me about it.  Initially he would report it to me as fact but now he usually calls to ask me if it is real.  I generally tell him if it isn't Passan (or maybe Rosenthal) you can usually ignore it.

Nothing groundbreaking here, says decision should come before the weekend. He talked to Tucker's friends who all guess that Tucker would prefer TO over NYM or LAD.

Make the right choice Tuck. Forget those stupid Dodgers and Mets.
