I’m very sorry to hear about your dad. I am in the same boat. I was one day old when Joe Carter hit his walkoff so have no memory of those World Series wins obviously.

Unfortunately, I am in the same boat. My dad taught me everything I know about the technical aspects of the game. I played until I was 21 but stopped playing due to a rotator cuff injury. That was the same year (2014) my father was killed in a car crash.

he would have loved this. I will probably be emotional with my girlfriend if they pull it off tonight or tomorrow.

I feel ya there, I also stopped playing from an arm injury in my early 20s.  I'm sorry to hear about your dad, memories last a lifetime at least, it's these types of moments that bring those back.  My dad passed unexpectedly on the operating table in March going in for heart surgery.  Still feels fresh.

Let's hope we get the W today/tomorrow for them!

If it goes to Game 7, I don't think they got anyone left to throw one out.  Ladies and Gentleman, for the ceremonial first pitch, Hazel Maze.

Kidding aside, maybe Buck could be honoured with it.

Today is the today...... Now or never. At home, with Gausman on the mount. We have a bug chance tonight.

Please, an easy win tonight...... Without drama

Damn when Springer pulled himself out of that game I thought he was done. Incredible he’s back in

Yeah I thought it was super unlikely he'd be back for the series at any point. I'd guess he's likely a violent swing away from being out of it at this point.

Moving Freeman back to the 3 spot is a smart move for the Dodgers. Keeping him and Ohtani close together makes it tough to pitch around Ohtani with a righty reliever.

That said, the 4–9 portion of their lineup looks rough. If we can contain the top three, Gaus and the bullpen should be able to keep their offense in check.

The season recap special I would purchase in a heartbeat. You have to support these guys and this franchise for all they've done this year. This 4th win will be the hardest one this season but this team has proven its resolve and resilience all year long. I'm genuinely more excited for this group of players than I am for the city or fans, though I'm also excited for each of us too. I want to support the idea of a winning team being more than just the sum of its parts. These guys deserve the adulation and recognition a championship brings. LFG!!!!!!!!!

That would make for an interesting poll topic to see how many of us were old enough to remember the first two world series championships. I was mid teens the first time around and I've been waiting my entire adult life for the Blue Jays to get back to a world series.

I would also like to see this poll

Can't come this far and not finish the job.

I've had nervous energy throughout the series but today is the first time I'm a f***ing wreck.

Got to have a short leash on Gausman, even if he's cruising, he has a tendency to suddenly hit a wall out of nowhere. He's done it plenty of times and he did it in the last game. Have to be ready at a moment's notice.

Just find a way to win. I don't care what prayers you have to speak, what rituals you have to adhere to, what sacrifices you must make. Just find a way to win.

My friend Gemini AI gave me these tidbits of Yamamoto Worst starts:  Hopefully we see a third one tonight.

MLB debut (March 2024)

  • Opponent: San Diego Padres
  • Result: Allowed five runs in the first inning, with a 45.00 ERA after one inning
  • Summary: This was his first MLB start in the Seoul Series and was described as a "nightmare debut". He struggled with control and was unable to get out of the first inning.

Career-shortest start (July 2025)

  • Opponent: Milwaukee Brewers
  • Result: Lasted just two outs and gave up five runs in the first inning
  • Summary: This start was the shortest of his MLB career and happened shortly after he was named an All-Star

Bo Bichette wasn't in the lineup against Yamamoto in game 2.  I expect his presence in the 4-hole to be the difference maker tonight.  He hasn't gone deep since he's been back and tonight would be a great time.

Let's get it boys!!  It's right in front of you!!

Was watching his interview on Sportsnet and he said he faced him but not many pitches. Didn’t check it perhaps he was pinch hitting. Can’t remember. Hoping he makes difference - good pick out.
