Winning the first 2 against the Rays and having the Orioles win at least 1 of the next 2 is the perfect scenario.  That would clinch top spot in the AL before Sunday and give us home-field advantage through the ALCS. Gausman can make a light tune-up start on Sunday and be lined up for game 1 of the DS.

This will be the Jays third time facing Houser this year with him handling them pretty well the first two.  Hopefully third time is the charm and we get to him today!

I'm also really curious to see how Trey makes out tomorrow facing a team for the second time.   The delivery won't be as unknown as it was the first time so it will be good to see if that helps him.  I hope they have Kirk catch him this game for some sweet bottom of the zone framing.

A sweep would be nice here. But of course, the last series of the season in a pennant race is against the Rays. You can't make this stuff up.

I dunno. This just seams fair.

Toronto needs to get by a nemesis and New York needs to win some real games too.

NYY: Warren, Schlittler, Gil
BAL: Rogers, Sugano, Bradish

The Yankees have their work cut out for them if they want to sweep or even win 2 of those games.
Rutschman just came off the IL three days ago too.

Ah yes this is the Apple TV game Sportsnet traded away.

At least Mr. Rogers avoided the nightmare scenario where the AL East magic number was 1 and they didn't have the game. The magic number is 3 so no clinching can happen tonight.

We clinch tomorrow and then rest Goose on Sunday.

Here's hoping they shut down Yandy Diaz for the season with the groin injury.

I knew the previous series would be a nightmare, there's no way the Yankees were losing to the White Sox at Yankees stadium, so  I was just hoping to survive those three games still in first, now that we did, it sets up a little bit better for us than it does the Yankees.

Still got to play the games and get it done on the field.

Apple deserves some credit for "trading" (while still showing) last week's game that was over by the 1st inning and a boring matchup/atmosphere in general for this game which will have a packed stadium and division title significance on the line.

As far as the game itself, I thought we were done with Houser, but I guess not. Confident in the starters the Jays have going, but not confident at all with the bats. Hopefully last night was the wake up call they needed.

Really wondering what thought went into that decision. Even last week it was pretty clear this final series would be more important than a win in KC

Rogers wanted to simulcast the game in case the Jays clinched a playoff spot and got to bathe each other in alcohol afterwards. Maybe they made a deal with Apple where if the Jays clinched, then Apple would keep rolling and air the celebration as well. They probably made that trade days earlier and there was no take backsies after realizing the game meant nothing. Really was a bad deal. The fact that they made that trade and then the Jays proceeded to collapse like they have which made tonight's game 100 times more important than last week's might be the Baseball Gods coming into play. Rogers got too cocky and the Gods had to intervene.

For anyone who is getting Apple TV+ to watch this game, I highly recommend watching the series See while you have a free trial.  It takes place in a world where everyone is blind (I guess only umpires reproduced).
