Wait a minute.  You're telling me we have the white sox throwing away games to the yankees in the 9th which is suspicious enough as it is.  Then they trade Crochet to the Redsox so we have to face him while the yankees get a white sox bull pen?

It's not suspicious at all if you've watched the White Sox.

Also, welcome to the site!

Michael Taylor totally gave up on that walk-off hit... embarrassing.

I feel like winning 3 of the remaining 4 will do it but need to start with a win tonight

Yeah i believed we would need to go 3-3 on this homestand to have a comfortable chance.

They just made it harder now, need to go 3-1

Have to be able to find a way to beat Brayan Bello with the division on the line

This core has not stepped up at any time down the stretch these last few seasons. Now would be a great time but im not holding my breath.

I said I wasn't nervous at all a week ago.  Now I'm very nervous for what's to come.  We went from what should have been an easy clinch and allowing for rest to quite possibly in a wild card spot having used all of our best starter options trying to clinch the division and bye.  I am still hopeful this means a heater will come in the playoffs.

Yeah if we win tonight it feels like we will have regained some control over this after pissing away our big lead.

We have our top 3 starters going against the Rays. Meanwhile, the Orioles avoid Fried and Rodon while throwing both Rogers and Bradish.

  • Bieber vs. Houser // Warren vs. Rogers
  • Yesavage vs. Boyle // Schittler vs. Sugano
  • Gausman vs. Seymour // Gil vs. Bradish

But like you said we gotta win tonight!

Thats what we all get for being believers lol. Jays always ready to disappoint.

Or lose tonight, fall 1 game back, then sweep the Rays while New York loses in game 162

I wonder if we lose tonight, do you even bother wasting those bullets against the Rays. Really wonder if they even use Gausman on Sunday if our magic number isn't 1 at that point.

If a win Sunday secures the division, gotta go all out. If we require a win AND a Yankees loss, I don't think i'd start Gausman. Although I don't even know what the replacement would be.

Yeah don't use Gausman on Sunday unless both teams are tied on Sunday morning. Or if by some miracle the Jays are 1 game up on Sunday morning, then maybe you give Gausman a short start on Sunday just to keep him on schedule since he'll have another 5 days off before Game 1 of the DS.

Lose tonight and go into the weekend 1 game back, and I'm probably preparing for a WC round, but worry about that on Sunday morning. If Bieber can go on 4 days rest, and they're just using him Friday for some specific reason, then he should be ready for next Wednesday and Yesavage on Thursday if necessary. Gausman being ready for Tuesday is the question. Using him on Sunday and then having to play Tuesday would be a disaster, especially since pushing Bieber back a day means he can't go in Game 1 of a WC series.

Can just make the decision on Sunday I guess. I agree with your thoughts. If a win seals it, have to use him because that win is worth as much as winning an entire wild card series. The downside though is you burn him for the WC series by using him ugh. Imagine having to start Scherzer in game 1?

Means they are due my friend

Or they hit into 4 double plays, leave 9 guys on base and lose 4-1

You literally have to play this game like it's number 162 with everything on the line. You can't even think that maybe  you can sweep the Rays and you can't presume the Yankees are going to lose more than even one game.

It looks bleak atm but a 4 game winning streak starting today would cure everything.  The boys are squeezing the bats WAY too tight!  We still own the top spot in the AL.  It's time for the leaders on this team to lead the way and get it done.

Couldn't agree more.

I too feel this way, what's happened happened, upwards and onwards.
