The Astros' lineup is pretty meh.

You need to get around Yordan but there is nothing else too scary in there. Altuve and Correa are not who they once were. Pena is overperforming. The other players are just league average kind of hitters.

Berrios can definitely get through this with an ugly quality start.

Berrios is too much of a vetrin to let his ERA keep creeping up despite the stuff tumbling.

7 IP, 2 ER, 3 K, 3 BB performance coming up.

Berrios is a bit of a coin flip recently as to whether he's going to be awful or pitch a decent game. It's key that the plays are made behind him in the field and the manager needs to have a quick hook as well as the wheels are always on the verge of falling off at any point.

Good chance we don't see Abreu tonight after yesterday's outing. Get to Alexander and grind the ab's to get to their bullpen. Then game over.

Let's not wait til the 9th for the bats to come alive though.

Their bullpen is GASSED.

Six RP used last night and three of them (Abreu, King, Blubaugh) are not going to be available. Maybe King I guess if they are desperate.

ASTROS BULLPEN 09-10-2025

  • Steven Okert - crafty lefty closer who threw 17 P last night
  • Craig Kimbrel - Mr. should have retired could throw back to back and for the 5th time in 7 games because f*** it he's old
  • Enyel De Los Santos - DFAd by the Braves this year and sucked last night but could throw again, back to back and for the 4th time in 7 games
  • Jayden Murray - 28 year old with 2 MLB innings (to be honest, might be their setup man tonight)
  • Lance McCullers - is he a long man? What is he?
  • JP France - same question. He was getting nuked in AAA.

If the Jays can get Alexander out early, he and his 5.05 FIP, then they are probably just feasting on France/McCullers. Tasty.

Interesting watching Astros Nation turn on Altuve right now saying he is washed. Terrible game for him last night with the base running and that throw in extras to not get Vladdy. He's batting something like .077 in his last seven games so we caught him at a good time.

Players age but banging on garbage cans live forever.

France could get called up this series. I suspect he is going to be their setup guy to get to Abreu. Houston thinks they are going to get 2023 JP France. 😂

Seems harsh.  The guy moved to LF this season to help the team and he continues to produce offensively in his age 35 season.  Most 2nd basemen fall off a cliff well before 35.  He's a franchise icon and likely a future HOFer.  Fans are stupid (shocking - I know).

I got home to watch the 9th - did Altuve do something stupid on the bases?  I don't think you can fault him for going to 3rd in the 10th.

Astros are apparently 23-32 in their last 55 games so Toronto is getting them at a good time. A real swoon.

I had no real idea until I went to an Astros message board as midnight for fap material and saw that factoid.

Gotta win this series and just keep winning series. Sweeps are fun but not required. Just do business from here on.

Caleb Joseph was all over Altuve on the post game. Said he watched the replays on the Vlad throw and Altuve wasn't even running for his first 10 steps. Completely dogging it! Unforgivable!!!

And then on the Vlad hustle grounder, Altuve cut off Pena and was late on the throw. Maybe trying to make up for his baserunning blunder. Should have let the shortstop take it. Unforgivable!!!!!!!

The Astros are only 1 game up on the Mariners and 2.5 on the Rangers. High stakes for both teams. Hopefully Berrios can ugly his way into a quality start. That’s all you can ask for from him at this point.

Good Jose Berrios start and we win.

Gaining a full game on the Yankees last night was huge after a disappointing series. Just gotta keep that 2-3 game buffer with the tie breakers and should be in good shape.

Vladdy hustling all the time and a lazy Altuve makes me happy

Anyone else see Heineman in the post game interview and think there's no way Altuve would have let that happen.  It was so disrespectful to his wife.

That was so shady, especially that he ran to the clubhouse to change right away, I'm still convinced he was wearing some type of buzzer system.

Heineman doing a post game interview without a shirt on while IKF stands there calmly and talks about his Pittsburgh days like he was held hostage with no food and water was the turning point in the season.

Maybe he was wearing his good-luck training bra or something
