Keep the streak going!

White Sox have been playing a bit better as of late lol, but regardless got to take advantage of these series against the White Sox and A's before the All-Star Break to pad up the division lead!

Berrios, Bassitt, Lauer, Scherzer, Gausman, Berrios

vs.

Burke (4.83 FIP), Civale (5.36 FIP), Houser (3.09 FIP), Severino (4.45 FIP). Lopez (4.21 FIP), Springs (4.77 FIP)

Anything less than 4-2 is unacceptable. 5-1 is par for the course. You get one stinker vs Houser. Need to rock the other five.

Always feels like Toronto has trouble getting up mentally for these matchups.

Agree with you both.

ChiSox have a bottom third rotation and bullpen instead of being historically bad like you might expect. They also play much better at home.

We just had a pretty emotionally taxing homestand with a ton of close games and the bullpen is running on fumes. The boys need to make sure they are taking these final 6 games seriously.

5-1 vs. 3-3 could be the difference in winning the division or not.

Would really help if Berrios could come out and dominate for 7 innings tonight.

They certainly need to avoid the trap of letting off the gas.  It will be difficult given how mentally taxing the last 2 series have been.  Hopefully the all-star break gives them motivation to keep grinding for 6 more games before they get a break.

I'd take 3-3 and be happy honestly. Especially since it's on the road and they have sucked on the road. Just don't want to see them fall on their faces with a negative record against the two worst teams in the AL after all the work they've done to not only get into 1st, but build a slight cushion.

It'd be a really good time for Vlad to lift a couple bombs this week but beggers can't be choosers.

Absolutely. We need more from him other than slapping 110mph singles everywhere mixed in with some doubles. Time to start launching some and put this team on his back.

I don't think there will be a letdown. Hopefully this team has a taste for winning now.

As Robbie Alomar used to say, "Catch the taste."

Dated reference warning above.

Big strech of winnable games before the All-Star break. A chance to really gain some ground on the Rays and Yankees. Anything short of 4-2 would be a disappointment.

Springer player of the week, told ya

I never would have predicted that! Only 5 homers? Hardly deserving.

I'm mentally preparing myself for the team to lay an egg after that brilliant homestand.

I hope to be pleasantly surprised. The Sox are playing their first game home after flying back from a road trip so there could be a bit of letdown on their side too.
