Francis vs. Sugano

Berrios vs. Povich (L)

Lucas (L) vs. ???.

They don't have a 5th starter right now. They could skip this spot and go with Morton on 5 days rest but he's been awful. Gibson isn't ready. They could go with a 45 FV prospect they have in AAA. Probably a bullpen game?

The pitching matchups look solid for the Jays but their approach of nothing but taking pitches and hitting singles gives me zero confidence that they could actually take advantage of it. Hopefully this is the series that wakes up Vladdy and Tony.

Really hope Vladdy can get on track. After starting the season smashing the ball (with bad launch angles), he's getting jammed a lot and rolling over on a ton of pitches.

Last 7 days average exit velo is a whopping 86.6 MPH. The guy clearly has hall of fame talent but he's got to understand how pitchers are attacking him and if he can make those adjustments that's what will make him look more like the 21/24 Vladdy.

Jose Bautista had great bat speed/tools but I would say the reason why he was such a great hitter was because he was so smart and knew what pitchers were going to do. If he got a mistake pitch he rarely missed it.

Confirmation that the umpire legitimately stole yesterday's game from us. Our opponent has been favoured by umpires in every single game since our opening day loss to Baltimore.

We have seen, by far, the most biased umpiring of any team at -4.6 runs. Boston is at +4 runs for the season. Over the course of a 162 game season, that would add up to a spread of 88 runs. That was the same as the difference between the 93 win Padres and the 77 win Reds last year.

Prime Bautista was f*cking incredible to watch.  That patience and aggressiveness was sublime.

Weather is not looking good for tonight. It will pour heavily until game time and then rain will be roughly 2mm per hour from 7-10pm but the outfield will get destroyed. Tomorrow looks fine and Sunday will be nice 17C and zero precipitation. If tonight's game is cancelled, look for a double header on Sunday.

2011 was one of my favourite Blue Jays seasons just because Bautista was that good. Literally felt as close to Barry Bonds in that you made one bad pitch to him all day and it would be a homer. When he was locked in he just wouldn't swing at bad pitches, was just incredible to watch.

The Blue Jays have to find a way to finally start hitting home runs. Tied for last place in baseball with only 6 home runs on the year. So far the minor leagues have yielded the same lack of power. Good at bats happening everywhere, but the results have to improve

Schneiders last ab was one of the most pathetic displays of umpiring in recent memory.

Constant reminder that baseball in April kinda sucks. Bad weather, bad attendance, quality of play not as good due to the weather conditions, etc. Oh well. Extra day of rest for the pen at least, and having what turns out to be an off day during a 13 games in a row stretch against teams predicted to be playoff contenders before the season is probably a good thing.

The Orioles are breathing a sigh of relief that they can dodge that horrible SP matchup. On July 29th they might have a slightly better rotation.

Why couldn’t they just make it up this weekend. More bad weather tomorrow?

Tomorrow it might spit a little but they'll most likely play. Sunday would have been a good day for a DH.

Saturday most likely, rarely see DH's on Sunday's unless both teams are off on the following Monday.
