Jays needs dingers This applies to Wagner too. Both give you mediocre defense with a noodle bat. Positive is that both have been working the pitchers well but just not coming through with results, which is what matters in the big leagues for a team in "win now" mode.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted April 12, 2025 Posted April 12, 2025 No power and uncompetitive ABs with RISP. Bo probably told Bautista he is swinging at anything even if it hits him
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 12, 2025 Posted April 12, 2025 how does the home plate umpire make that call?
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted April 12, 2025 Posted April 12, 2025 This is why another bat would have been nice to add this offseason with Santander. Going into the season relying both on Wagner and Roden as starters was kind of risky. Would have been better having them in AAA to start the season and as the first call-up options in case of an injury. Just gotta hope Wagner/Roden can turn things around. Jays24 1

It’s hard to see the ball but if you go frame by frame here and judge the fielders actions it’s pretty clear Vlad didn’t leave early. What a joke of a call jaysblue, hanton and Daniel Labude 3

Depends who the bat was, could also be worse could also just have Barger up with Springer in CF and Lukes in AAA if you want more power
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2025 Posted April 13, 2025 Vlady left when O'Neill caught the ball, hard to see here without watching it frame by frame, O'Neill just made the catch Daniel Labude 1

PitaBaby Verified Member Posted April 13, 2025 Posted April 13, 2025 As of right now, the Jays are dead last in home runs on the season. This feels wrong.

This is bound to change eventually. The team has received a whopping total of 1 home run from the top of the order, and this trio could reasonably be expected to provide around 80-90 home runs over an entire season. Adding Varsho back into the lineup should inject a little more thump as well.
