You can't lose to Walker Buehler. Dude is basically a late career Syndergaard at this point. His velo is down another 1.5 mph this year and his Stuff+ is below 100. Frigging 82-85 on his three fastballs which he throws like 61% of the time, lollllllllll

I've resigned myself to the fact that unless the temperature goes above 18 degrees these guys might just struggle for a little bit. At least they're taking their walks in the meantime, but I think we just gotta deal with the shrinkage while the playing conditions are as they've been over the past week. Vlad has a .370 OBP so things could be worse.

That seems odd after a day in which he DH'd.  Hopefully everything is OK.  Historically, Vlad doesn't miss many games.

MLB gave us an insane early schedule so I'm sure it's just them trying to keep guys fresh.

We are in the midst of what is essentially a 13 game road trip (just the final 3 games are at home) with no days off

My guess is with 13 games in a row and bad weather that Schneider is trying to give each important player a game (Gimenez, Springer, and now Vlad). It will be interesting if Bo gets a day off because they rarely/never give him a day off or use him as a DH, historically.

These are my thoughts as well. Vlad should be available to pinch hit later in the game if the situation warrants it.

See this is what I don't get. If you are giving him a day off give him an actual day off. You really don't save the player by having him pinch hit later in the game as the player still has to warm up/hit balls in the cage/do all everything that's required before starting in the game.

Schneider did it with Springer last night too. You really aren't saving a player much having him play 6 less innings.

Players who pinch hit later in the game have to warm up, hit in the cage, field balls, etc.? Seems like a lot of that could be ramped down.

It's so hard to play first base and DH... BS move but that's just my opinion. If he's hurt that's a different story.
