Good news is we most likely have springer after today’s updates.  If you get banged up there usually you don’t really feel it until the next day so he must have really got lucky.  But again they may just be delaying bad news.

Jesus Montero killed in a car accident earlier. Played for the Ms in the bigs and for the Jays system in Buffalo.

RIP

Such a shame. So many idiot drivers out there, not sure why anyone would ride a motorcycle these days. You're putting your life in everyone else's hands regardless of how careful you are.

You do the same thing in a car, though admittedly there's more safety features in a car or truck. But, all it takes is one idiot and you're done no matter what youre driving.

Vladdy is having one of the greatest postseasons of all-time

Meawhile, Clement is hitting .447 with elite D an OPS of 1.121 and everyone is like... who???

Shows how unreal Vlad is doing when nobody is talking about what Ernie is doing.

Imagine seeing this lineup for Game 1:

DH Springer

LF Lukes

1B Vlad

2B Bo

CF Varsho

C Kirk

RF Barger

3B Clement

SS Gimenez

I don't see any way that Bo will be playing a new position for the first time in the world series coming off of a knee injury. A position switch is something that should happen in the offseason/spring training with proper reps to learn the ins and outs of the position. I expect that he will likely receive some starts at DH with pinch hitting duties in other games and see little chance of him seeing the field at any point.

I agree but let a man dream.  I think we'll see the same lineup but with Bo at DH, Springer at RF, Barger at 3B and Clement at 2B.

I generally agree but I think it's possible that Springer will play left field to allow Lukes and his plus arm to feature in right field.

The American media I've been listening to is loving Ernie Clement right now too.  The guys from Baseball Today on Jomboy have been singing his praises for a while with Plouffe calling him his new favourite player.

It's crazy how much adding Bo back into the lineup lengthens it.

No chance Bo is playing anything other than SS (not likely) or DH (more likely). If Bo is good to play then we will probably see the Barger-Gimenez-Clement infield left to right with Springer in LF and Bo at DH. As long as Springer can cosplay as a LF without it impacting his offense, then that should work.

IKF had a surprisingly nice ALCS, but the difference between him and Bo in the lineup is astronomical. Need any positive reinforcements we can get in order to have a shot at beating the Dodgers.

After he watched George Springer tough it out on one leg the past 2 days and what he accomplished he couldn't really say no.  Could he?

If anyone else on the team did this, it would be everyone's wallpaper haha.

Gotta give him credit though, there is no comeback without his hit.

He was all over the ball last night.  Line drives and solid contact in every at bat.  The guy was left for dead this season - released by an awful Pirates team.  How surreal this must be for him.

Yeah that's what I would do. Might want to go with a 5 man bench to keep IKF and an 8 man bullpen too. I suppose they could drop Loperfido though to keep a 4-man bench.

I thought of this on Sunday night but executed with very, very sub-standard photo-editing skills.

Add Lukes into consideration also - do you start Straw?

Straw wRC+ against LHP - 93.

Lukes wRC+ against LHP - 99.

Snell has a typical LHH vs, RHH performance split.

Does the D advantage of Straw close the gap?

Decision probably depends on Straw and Lukes batted ball data against Snell's pitch mix.

I would lean Lukes to keep Straw available as a late inning defensive replacement.

I agree.  Lukes is a grinder.  I want him in the lineup.

Gotta admit, I was pretty wrong about this season from the start

Bowden Francis and Addison Barger were the only ones I thought worth watching.  (50/50 right-wrong).

I thought Springer and Bichette were toast.  (totally wrong).

The main success seems to be that the team operated as 26 players working together.

I wish he wasn't in the 2 hole, but yes, Lukes has more than earned his place as a capable MLB starter.

Star? no.

I hope he can turn his late blooming into at least a free agency payday, though that will be when he's going into his age 36 season.
