Tickets went on sale for ALCS general admission/standing room only…. $110 face value.

Thats insanity. They sold out in minutes too.

Where are you even allowed to be with those tickets?

I would probably be fine spending $110 if I can move around the ballpark. The concourses have excellent visuals now and I would be fine finding a perch somewhere. Probably in some situations better than seats people paid more for. It just sucks getting general admission seats if you want to take your girlfriend/wife or kids because they want to sit and be comfortable somewhere.

Agree that is probably not a playoff calibre starter. I agree he can probably air it out for 2-3 IP at most a few times in the 7 game series, but is that as a more leverage arm in a close game? or more of a being-up-or-down-by-4+ and eat up innings type?

Every inning is important in the postseason

Game 3 probably would've been different if Scherzer came in for Bieber

Im on the have Scherzer on the roster.

Being calm and composed when the stakes are high is equally as important as your stuff in the playoffs. You cant be successful without one of those

Yes, the Jays would’ve lost 13-6 instead

His recent performances have probably colored my opinion a bit too much, because it feels to me like Scherzer is washed and just has nothing left to contribute.

That said, given his history with the Tigers, should they advance it would be really cool to see him have success against them and in Detroit and help us bury them.

I assume you meant to say the Yankees.  Ortiz was like an uncle to him.  Vlad's favourite player growing up was his Dad.  Ortiz was his second favourite player.   If Ortiz was your second favourite player growing up you're probably not going to like the Yankees.

His God father is Pedro Martinez as well. Says it all.

If I recall correctly Lauer hasn't even thrown 50 pitches since the start of September and has maxed out at 40 or so pitches in the last 5 weeks. That's not stretched out to go 4-5 innings unless he was super efficient producing outs.

Schneider said coming into the PS he's good for 3 innings, or 4 depending on pitch count. It's the PS, all you need from a bulk guy is basically 3 innings.

Has it dawned on you guys that we might actually be in the midst of a World Series run right now and we just don't know it yet?

In other words, this might end up being one of the most memorable months of our lives and we are currently living through it.

I've already got anxiety for Sunday's game and we don't even know who we are playing yet.

I would have picked up a pair if I knew damn.

I don't mind standing along a perch somewhere. Did that in 2015 for several games. Would buy a single 500 level seat and stand along one of the railings in the 100 level on the first or third base side.

I did manage to get a single ticket for the ALCS Game 7 in Section 231. $510 face value lol.

Would rather save up for World Series games if they happen, but damn they'll be expensive and probably even tougher to get online when they go on sale.

If you had to pick a game to target first for when World Series tickets go on sale, would you target Game 6 or Game 7? Obviously depends on who the Jays would play.

6 since it's more likely to happen

It would have to be IKF if Bo's back, Barger's fine at 3B.

IKF out, Bichette in, also Bruihl out, and need to choose between Scherzer or Bassitt. Against the Mariners or Tigers, we probably use Gausman, Yesevage, Bieber and the bullpen as SP. So Scherzer and Bassitt, will be used mostly to rest the bullpen if one of Bieber,  Yesevage, Gausman can't last 5 innings. About Bichette, the question is no if it's ok to remove IKF from the roster,  but more if Springer healthy enough to play in RF or LF. If no, we unfortunately can't have 2 DH. But in other hands,  IKF is so useless that we can afford use Bichette only as pinch hitter.

Yeah good point. Will queue for Game 6 first and then hope some singles would still be available for Game 7 afterwards.

You don’t need to decide between Max and Bassit. You bring both and drop Nance a long with Bruihl. Nance looked awful in both his outings.

below from the last paragraph, that's not a natural way to think about hitting but I like it

"Can you teach contact guys to swing just a little harder?"

After seeing video of Bo take some swings today, I think we need to just give up on the idea. He looks awful. He's not Bo Bichette.

Think of the downsides:

Bo hasn't faced real pitching in a month, now you put him up against Seattle?

A guy who is already a liability defensively and running the bases is now even more of a liability in that regard.

He would likely force us to have to compromise more defense somewhere else.

It probably results in a guy like Santander, a power threat switch hitter who looks like he's finally getting his timing back, getting fewer at bats.

You got to know when to fold 'em.

Jerry DiPoto says that Bryan Woo will pitch mid-way through the series, so that probably means game 5 unless he's lying or they do something really weird.

Kirby is horrendous on the road, so I think it makes the most sense for them to pitch him on regular rest in game 3. I don't know what they do with Gilbert, but he just pitched on short rest in relief. It would be insane Randy Johnson type usage if they used him in Toronto.

I think we see Miller and Castillo in the first 2 games. Both of them were lit up by the early season Jays offense. It's really the best scenario we could have imagined. Now they just have to execute.

So the team should just give up playing Bo completely because you saw him take a few swings you didn't like in a non competitive situation.

I think yesterday was a throwing day for Gilbert anyways between starts, but yeah big difference pitching in an actual ALDS Game 5 environment in terms of stress on his arm. He threw 34 pitches over 2 innings, so he should be good for either Game #1 or #2. Castillo should be fine after only throwing 15 pitches.

Forgot Woo was on the IL. They definitely need him back.

I've been thinking about that; certainly the best team since 2015 and we (obviously) have a real shot to make the WS. The Dodgers loom large, however.

After watching last nights game, you hope the Jays do add either Bassitt or Scherzer to the roster for the ALCS.

Both preferably. Drop Bruihl and Nance.
