They nearly always underreport the severity of injuries. When I was Bo's age I pissed all over the floor of the drunk tank in Tofino, slipped in it and sprained my knee. It was swollen double the size and a week later I had it duct taped working 12 hour days 7 days a week, being dropped off by a helicopter in the mountains in the Yukon, in October, for mining/drilling work. Not saying Bo is soft, but it's been 4 weeks and if its a grade 3, you're going to need surgery anyway and you have 5 months to recover. mphenhef, Spanky__99, BatFlip and 2 others 4 1

Governator Community Moderator Posted September 30, 2025 Posted September 30, 2025 I don't even know if/when Berrios will be used. They used him once in relief and he gave up a few runs if I recall.

infinitebook Verified Member Posted September 30, 2025 Posted September 30, 2025 The nice thing is that with the rest day before a game 5 you aren't locked in to who you start that day. If Gausman throws a stinker game 1 and Bieber pitches well you can still have Bieber go game 5 on normal rest. Spanky__99 1

They're going to go with what they believe gives them the best chance to win. Every player on this team will support that decision - it's owed to them.

It's the 12th and 13th in Toronto, 15th and 16th on the road and 17th back in Toronto.

harvey16 Verified Member Posted September 30, 2025 Posted September 30, 2025 What time slots do you think the Jays will get for games 1 and 2 on Saturday/Sunday. I'm hoping the 6pm slot on Saturday and maybe 4pm Sunday. Only 2 games Sunday, so I'm assuming it will be 4pm and 8pm games?

They probably get whatever the prime time slot would be since the Seattle side wouldn’t be favored. Keep in mind the Sunday game will be scheduled with NFL as a factor too, so idk what time makes sense for the network.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2025 Posted September 30, 2025 Bo’s a gamer. I remember him getting into altercations with Montoya for trying to take him out of games. He’s never liked to be taken out of games or not play. I believe he’s trying everything to get back in. The team just probably isn’t being honest about the severity of the injury. I do firmly believe his father is in his ear making sure to give him Sage advice as a former major leaguer. Making sure he keeps perspective on what's best for him and his future as he heads into free agency. There's no structural damage apparently, no need for surgery, but playing through pain is risky, you could end up hurting yourself worse by favouring the knee with that pain. There's no way free agency is not playing on his mind. That's all I'm saying.

Would it? If it's just pain? Bo can get hits with his upper body alone. He was barely running for any speed prior to the injury so not much lost there. Kirk Gibson hit a home run off Eckersley with NO legs under him. I'll take a one and a half legged Bo Bichette any day.

That was literally one at-bat and he never played after then. Freddie Freeman is a better comparison if there is one to be made at all. Personally, I think this whole conversation is a bit tin-foil hatted. Spanky__99 1

Bo is slow when healthy. What happens if he gets on base as a DH? Save him as an off the bench bat late in the game and then pinch run for him if he gets a hit. If he plays the Jays will be deploying him once a game. That's it.
