I love how Vogelbach's butt is firmly planted on the bench as our 26th man. But when he does actually find his way into the lineup he's all of the sudden good enough to hit cleanup lol.

It's got to be some sort of respect/deference thing to Vogelbach because it makes no sense otherwise.

If he actually was good enough to bat cleanup he'd play more in a platoon and he'd be pinch hitting nearly every game but he doesn't.

I suppose there could be something about Lugo's pitch mix that makes Vogelbach's bat play up?

He is a decent hitter and he has had mostly good PAs this year, despite no results.

I would GUESS that he just projects very well against RHP and is being slotted accordingly.

But yeah he should be hitting sixth or seventh. Seems disrespectful to Varsho to be behind Vogelbach. And weird to not split them up.

Varsho

Jansen

Schneider

Vogelbach

IKF

Barger

Vogelbach batting clean up and Jansen batting 6th is ridiculous. Just do Jansen-Varsho-DS-Fatty-IKF-Barger to break up the lefties. They don’t even use Vogelbach as a late game pinch hitter and he starts like once a week at best. He has no defensive or base running value. Like, what’s the point of his existence on this roster?

Don't question the Jays... they have more information than you and can do no wrong lol.

Seriously speaking, you are 100% right here. The fact he's batting ahead of Varsho/Jansen/Schneider is ridiculous... he should be batting 7th in that lineup.

While it may have taken a week or 2 longer than fans wanted, it certainly appears that Davis Schneider is now a fulltime starter for this team.

No reason not to at this point

He plays hard, has good at bats, hits the ball hard, and has proven to be an adequate defender in LF for sure and probably at 2B

And he's hitting righties better than lefties so far this year (although small sample size). The idea that he was a platoon hitter just seemed silly as he also had reverse splits in the minors. Glad he's in the lineup everyday.

Its pretty sad that last year our one year veteran signing 35 year old Brandon Belt was our best hitter. Then this year its gonna be our one year veteran signing 40 year Justin Turner haha. What a sad offense.

Let's wait until KK is back with his 10.5M salary before saying Schneider is a full time starter lol.

I think Vogelbach is batting 4th because they don't want to juggle the lineup a lot. He's taking Turner's spot in the lineup so he's batting in his spot too. I don't agree with it, but they've done the same thing when sitting out a few other guys too.

Ya, we wouldn't want to mess with one of the best offenses in the majors...

I know you're just tossing out ideas as to the reasoning lol.

Guerrero seems to be hitting better the last few games.

Agreed... just need him to lift the ball more but we'll just take him upping his average as a starting point.

Should have challenged that. He was off the bag.

It looked super close but Vogelbach and the 1st base coach didn't react so assume he was out

OK the Manoah highlights they just showed on the TV broadcast looked VERY encouraging

Nasty looking stuff.

Fingers crossed

Would’ve preferred he just toss it to Vlad over risking any shenanigans with the umpire’s discretion of the runner being in the baseline. Moot point, easy inning for him there.

Ya it was really unnecessary

Another excellent swing put on a ball by Schneider, 98.7 mph, 34 LA, just missed extra bases hitting it 362 feet.
