The_DH Verified Member Posted May 1, 2024 Posted May 1, 2024 Guerrero+Bichette won't get you Holliday. How about Guerrero and Romano?
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2024 Posted May 1, 2024 They can't possibly run this team back in 2025. Just retool for 2026 at this point. Trade everyone who is only controllable through 2025 and might have any value. Salary dump everyone that can be dumped including Vlad. Consider trading Gausman and Varsho as well even though they are under control in 2026. I can’t believe they were content with just running it back again for 2024
Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2024 Posted May 1, 2024 Maybe too much: how about selling off some bullpen guys and trade Guerrero for Holliday. Even if the Orioles wanted to rehabilitate Guerrero they will not be acquiring right handed hitters. Could you imagine even a fixed Vlad in Camden? Top exit velocities 1. Guerrero 118 mph 33 degrees 420 feet out deep left center corner thing. 2. Guerrero 117 mph 29 degrees 418 feet out deep left center corner thing. 3. Guerrero 114 mph 18 degrees 392 feet single left field 4. Guerrero 114 mph -1 degrees double play 5. Guerrero 112 mph 28 degrees 401 feet out center field Guerrero expected performance 5/5 3 homeruns Guerrero actual performance in Camden 1/5, single 5 outs.
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2024 Posted May 1, 2024 I don't think the front office has the cajones to clean house. Unfortunately. They have invested too much in the new cup holders on the 100 level to risk it.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2024 Posted May 1, 2024 How about Guerrero and Romano? There is nobody on this team getting you Holliday.

This assumes he is getting good launch angles but still has the weird spin thing, and Camden eats all the long balls to left. Varsho maybe they want and Gaussman if he is not injured. Gaussman, Varsho for 3 Orioles prospects in their top 8 ? Maybe they even give Holliday?

gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2024 Posted May 1, 2024 I guess Barger will be sent back down this weekend when KK returns.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2024 Posted May 1, 2024 Varsho and Gaussman? Thing is they dont need hitters. They have too many already. They certainly need starting pitching but why trade the crown jewel when you could just trade Mayo and Basallo or something instead
Laika Community Moderator Posted May 1, 2024 Posted May 1, 2024 Only thing we can hope for is something like this: On June 1, the Phillies were 8 games under .500 and 12.5 games behind the first place New York Mets.[39] As a result, the Phillies fired manager Joe Girardi and Rob Thomson was named the interim manager.[39] President of Baseball Operations Dave Dombrowski said: "I still think it is early enough in the year that we can come back and we have a chance to make the postseason. I know the division is a ways off, but even if you win a Wild Card spot anything can take place. And I think from my perspective, a different voice was needed in the clubhouse at this time."[39] Clean house this month
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2024 Author Posted May 1, 2024 I guess Barger will be sent back down this weekend when KK returns. He's so wound up and nervous out there. He just won't be able to perform until he calms down. Taking wild hacks, horrible routes to the ball, etc.
bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2024 Posted May 1, 2024 How is vlads swing so bad lol. He's supposed to be at ABSOULUTE WORST a 3ish war player. He doesn't even look like a 1 WAR player lol
Masterbather Verified Member Posted May 1, 2024 Posted May 1, 2024 Nice to see Vladdy giggling and smiling after another pathetic performance and another pathetic loss.

If you repeat the simulation we're living in 1000 times over theres probably only 3 outcomes that result in vlad being this bad, lul.
JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2024 Posted May 1, 2024 It's a roller coaster and if Minnesota can win 10 in a row so can the Jays... just saying.

Masterbather Verified Member Posted May 1, 2024 Posted May 1, 2024 The Schneider watch starts now. Another month like this, he is gone. Another scapegoat for a terrible front office.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2024 Posted May 1, 2024 The Schneider watch starts now. Another month like this, he is gone. This challenges of this team has very little to do with Schneider and the coaches. Firing yet another Manager this FO hired accomplishes little.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2024 Posted May 1, 2024 Managers are hired to be fired. But I don’t think John is cut out for managing at the highest level. Honestly it has looked like he lost the clubhouse going back to last year

Honestly it has looked like he lost the clubhouse going back to last year Ya, maybe. But I always believe that in any business, after enough runway and sample size, primary accountability rests at the top.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2024 Author Posted May 1, 2024 Are you sad Laika has woken up from his slumber? No, actually I was furious. He was officially CUT from Team Not Panicking after the Astros series a month ago. It was all very public after Spanky and I made the decision. Now he exists in this permanent semi-troll state (kind of like me) where idiots such as yourself take him far too seriously and end up making themselves mad online over someone's take on a baseball board. You probably missed all of this because you were on another time out after a zany rant for not being able to use the R and F words again.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 1, 2024 Posted May 1, 2024 Ya, maybe. But I always believe that in any business, after enough runway and sample size, primary accountability rests at the top. Come on man It's not like nearly the whole fanbase knew that the offense was going to be woefully inadequate...
