There's swing and miss there, so Atkins would probably vomit at the thought of acquiring him, but otherwise a lot of red on the statcast page. Could be a tweak away from being good (though the Jays being able to give him that tweak might be far fetched).

Jesus Sanchez is a poor man’s Teoscar who hits from the left side. I don’t know how long you can continue to buy his potential, he might just be mediocre. Tantalizing power but he’s got a bit of a low IQ reputation. I guess so did Teoscar and then he broke out anyway.

26 man roster + limit on number of pitchers means you can roster a couple of platoon guys these days no problem.

Still under club control for two more seasons and likely shouldn't be expensive via arbitration. Rather than signing Burnes to a massive contract or giving a second tier arm like Manaea 3 years at $75M like other arms in that group have got this offseason. Plus, doubt Luzardo would cost that much via trade.

Need a younger, left handed, Justin Turner. I wonder what Pittsburgh would want for Spencer Horwitz. I guess this should have been formulated as part of a three player trade, but maybe Jays didn't even know Horwitz was going to Pittsburgh? Maybe Jays had a thought they'd sign another DH.

 

Wagner and Loperfido for Howritz? Pittsburgh gets two players with more defensive versatility and similar ceiling, Jays get a bat that has more of a track record, a DH for 2025, and possible Vlad replacement for 2026.
