Tony Salamander on a 6 year deal would be nuts. But if the options are Teo for 4 (age 32-35 seasons) or Salamander for 5 (age 30-34), I might take Salamander.

 

He's younger and for a team that is desperate for power, he provides more of it. Plus, he's a switch hitter and Teo is another righty. Teo is a better base runner, but the defense is actually much closer than you think. Salamander beats him in some of the metrics over the years.

Williams is also coming off an injury riddled season. Naturally, the Yankees love having an elite bullpen and are trading from a position of strength.
