I'm not clear on whether she's being accused of pimping her daughter out, or for extorting Franco upon finding out after the fact. One is definitely far worse than the other, but neither is ok. Extorting a pedo for financial gain, still gives him the chance to prey on other kids.

That's not true at all. Your buddy Bauer probably wouldn't have been suspended if the news wasn't plastered all over Twitter every day. MLB has no issue with criminal players, but they do have a problem with bad image costing them money.

Bauer was suspended after a 9 month investigation. 9 months after the publicity when the allegations came out.

 

Franco has not been suspended, as the MLB investigation continues.

 

MLB has to balance its corporate image with its liability risk. No doubt they have a team of lawyers to help them navigate these things.

Also you are conflating the criminal justice system with the HR policies in the CBA. Policies which are consistent with other businesses.
