I was in Cleveland back in 2017 or 2018 and we enjoyed it. Ball park was a ton of fun and we ate on 4th Street East, which is a pedestrian only street with all kinds of great patios and night life.

I’ll second this, Cleveland was nice. One of the more memorable stadium/game experiences. I like the park a lot.

We hung out in the right field corner. There was all kinds of craft beers and then those standing areas. Atmosphere was super fun and laid back. A lot of the new reno's at the dome remind me of elements I saw at Progressive Field (and others I've visited lately).

Horwitz's plate approach is so solid that it's incredibly annoying that they wasted him in Buffalo for over two months

All for a guy who eats ice cream for breakfast and has negative WAR, and a twig who has a fetish for watching strike 3 go by

Now all we need is a RFer that can hit and we may actually start stringing some runs together.

The first two months of the season were a masterclass on how not to build a “sustainable contender”. Platooning the only good hitting prospect you’ve developed in 5 years, keeping a 26 year old down in favor of guys who would be lucky to combine for a 1 WAR by the end of the season, calling up a prospect and immediately putting him at a position he’s never played in his pro life, etc. Unwatchable and poor decision making left and right.

Bringing your Ace, your Closer, and one of your setup man back from arm injury setbacks aggressively rather than being cautious and throwing them on the IL for two weeks

Closing your eyes to Tim Mayza's velocity and just pretending that he's still a good RP (this is still happening lol)

Yeah 2024 has been a s*** show. Just awful management from every aspect.

They give way too much rope based on past performance.

Bo I can see being patient with at this point, he was terrible for the first half of 2022 and ended up with 4.9 fWAR (man we could use a hot streak like that again this year)

But holy s*** Springer is cooked. It's June 14th and he's still sporting a .580 OPS and they have three OF's in Buffalo with way better projections than that in Barger, Lukes and Berroa. Barger and Lukes are even on the 40 man FFS

And yeah, enough with Mayza already too. Danner is also on the 40 man, let's have a look at him. He got the call last year but immediately was hurt, then a rough start this year. But he's been better lately.

Swanson is getting pounded on AAA too, my bet is Mayza would as well.

Every relief lefty should be DFA'd. They all suck.

Yep, he gone for Barger.

It will be interesting to see how they work Barger into the lineup. Does this primarily move Springer to the bench? Does Barger see time at third base?

Since Barger was sent down he's been playing everywhere. 8 out of his last 13 games have been at SS even. Also plenty of LF and 3B and some RF and 1B too.

Barger coming up to keep the seat warm for our savior Votto?

Yeah this definitely opens up that possibility too. If Votto bangs in AAA he's got a clear spot now.

I like that it gives them the f***ing OPTION of benching Springer. You start with a day or two off per week, then take it from there depending on how Barger does. Hopefully he hits two tanks first game and then Springer just becomes a cheerleader.

And there it is for the folks that wondered why Biggio and not Vogelbach.

Answer is both.

Hopefully Barger has a better showing than his debut call up

Please bench Springer and make him a late inning D replacement

At least there are now enough interesting young players to make the team worth watching.

It is legitimately exciting to see how Horwitz, Barger, Schneider do on a game to game basis.

Yeah if the Jays are going to be a middling team then do it with young players who might have potential, and even if they bomb, it’s still better than watching past prime vets on their last legs.

Barger June in AAA: .205/.271/.341. Fantastic timing as usual with this FO lmao

Wow the club has been essentially trying to develop him into a Biggio replacement then except with the ability to even man short stop. Hopefully he doesn't look completely overwhelmed by the spotlight this time and lets the game come to him a little bit. I really like his physical toolset and he has a chance to be a difference maker if he can keep the nerves under control a bit better this time.

If you dig a little below the surface numbers you find a .342 xwOBA, including .266 xBA, .331 xOBP and .455 xSLG. It simply appears that he isn't being properly rewarded for the quality of contact he's producing over the month.

Is there a reason why we're not calling up Martinez? Is this related to delaying the MLB clock on him? He could easily DH if his defense is THAT bad at 2B.
