Vlad was the worst 3B in baseball by a wide margin when he played there regularly. It's fine if it's not a permanent move but don't expect his defense to magically be better at an older age and no MLB reps.

Seems like it was wise to wait. Vlad looks to be settling in as a 3-4 WAR guy, not the perennial MVP candidate we all thought he might become after the 2021 season. Same with Bo.

 

Also, after last offseason the market seems to have crashed some for players. We might get them on good deals still.

Yeah its pretty obvious that Atkins would be against trading Bo/Vlad. That would be an admission that we need to start a rebuild and he’d be losing his job.

Which he should be gone before any trades happen in regards to a rebuild, so until then its pretty much setup for the extensions route

Atkins' motivations at this point are not aligned with the long term health of the team. Barring a miracle run, it makes all the sense in the world to move Bo and Vlad as part of a re-tool. But he can't do that.

Don't see it. At least with Vlad he has been very very open with wanting an extension and to stay in Toronto for good

 

Probably would take a super monster haul to trade either at this point and not seeing who would even be willing to come close
