Laika Community Moderator Posted May 21, 2024 Posted May 21, 2024 $24.99 / Year lol that's f***ing wild just throwing away all that ad revenue do they know how easy it is to just scrape projections/salaries and do this?
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2024 Posted May 21, 2024 that's f***ing wild just throwing away all that ad revenue do they know how easy it is to just scrape projections/salaries and do this? Yeah there's not a lot to it. Some enterprising fan with the right skillset will give them some competition I bet. Someone like Nestico who is doing a good job with Stuff+.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2024 Posted May 21, 2024 -Trade Bo to the Dodgers for a bunch of MLB-ready stuff -Sign Kim in the offseason to replace Bo -Extend Vlad, Jansen and Kooch The WC3 will be easy to make with our 250 million dollar payroll
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2024 Posted May 21, 2024 Buy when others are scared The reason some FA deals look horrible is because teams end up buying the pico top of the player stock I do agree it would be a good time to extend either of these bums, if they would. They have physical tools (Vlad) or track records (Bo). It makes me sick to my stomach to say that. I totally agree with this, but the issue is I don't think they value themselves at what we would want them to be valued at to sign them lol. And in this situation they go to market to get the waterboarding Chappy, Belly and Snell treatment to get real.

They had to be licking their chops after the Bogaerts offseason. The money was flying around. But last offseason should give them pause about hitting the market.

It could change again of course but Xander’s deal term/AAV for that kind of player is for now extinct.

It could change again of course but Xander’s deal term/AAV for that kind of player is for now extinct. It could turn back just as fast to 2022 market valuations. Depends who's available as FA and a teams need. I wouldn't say the term/aav is extinct. Never underestimate the stupidity of ownership.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2024 Posted May 21, 2024 Jays ACE goes tonight and its not even close: Kooch: 1.7 WAR, 2.60 ERA, 2.74 xERA, 2.61 FIP Berrios: 0.3 WAR, 2.98 ERA, 4.87 xERA, 4.64 FIP So many fans see Berrios as the ACE, but the numbers and expected stats don't show that. Kooch has been lights out and better overall. Both have been good.

Kooch has been lights out and better overall. Both have been good. That's because he gets yanked in the 5th inning after throwing 65 pitches.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2024 Posted May 21, 2024 That's because he gets yanked in the 5th inning after throwing 65 pitches. 60 IP 10 GS for Berrios 52 IP 9 GS for Kooch Pretty close and Kooch goes tonight
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2024 Posted May 21, 2024 Yesterday Blair and Barker were talking about Turner's struggles and about how the league has adjusted to his uppercut. smh and I turned it off. First of all it's not an uppercut, It's literally the swing that made him and so many other Dodgers great hitters. He's nearly 40 his OPS+ last season was 113, he's at 90 right now so not far off. Maybe Atkins was looking at his OPS lol
Sorrow Verified Member Posted May 21, 2024 Posted May 21, 2024 I prefer RA9-WAR for present season results and it's 1.7 to 1.6 for Kikuchi to Berrios. I prefer fWAR more as a barometer about how the next season may go.
Eat My Shatkins Verified Member Posted May 22, 2024 Posted May 22, 2024 Yariel started today for Buffalo and only threw 16 pitches and recorded 1 out. That can't be good

That can't be good Probably just easing him back into a bullpen role?? Realistically Pearson and Pop are replaced with Green and Yrod by the end of the month

Kikuchi last night he had is struggles and only went 4.1 innings. Before that 8 innings and 5 straight games where he went 6 innings. 4 out of 5 of those he easily could have went another inning. Someone needs to send a memo to Schneider that Kikuchi is the new ace.

On top of that Kikuchi's ERA/FIP/xERA all indicate ace level performance, vs Berrios who appears to have been rather fortunate in terms of batted ball results. Kikuchi 2.64 ERA/2.68 xERA/2.61 FIP Berrios 2.98 ERA/4.87 xERA/4.63 FIP

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2024 Posted May 22, 2024 How is being 10% below league average comparable to being above average? I think he means ROS wRC+... either way it's a small sample, dude was on fire in April and dogshit since, we'll see what we get. I liked that he pulled an inside fastball and missed a bomb yesterday by a couple feet, hopefully more of that to come.
The_DH Verified Member Posted May 22, 2024 Posted May 22, 2024 I still think good hitting makes everyone better and worse hitting makes everyone worse. A lineup is a mixture of different personalities and what I'm afraid of is that there's nobody to lead them forward. One or two hitters do well, then another one follows and so on. In this case, we started with 3 s***** hitters and stayed that way. That part to me was unforgiveable.

James Key Verified Member Posted May 22, 2024 Posted May 22, 2024 I think the jays need to invest some of that team budget into scouting and coaching. More specifically, coaches and scouts with reputations of success with player development. It seems like this management group are trying to unearth the next big name in the respective circles. Tear the team down and start over. But with that record budget, invest In proven scouting, proven coaching at all levels. Are we a development org or a big time destination org that all names flock to? I’m just so sick of this team. It’s been two years of this. I will be happy to see Atkins and Shapiro go. Hire proven executives who hire proven scouting staff. The system looks bereft of star power. The team looks moribund. Thanks Mark and Ross. Your quest to help the defence has ruined all the excitement this team had at one time. Notice how so many teams have home run celebrations now? That suit jacket was awesome. What a spectacular decimation of an entertaining team. Bo and Vlad look so average. Hire back Dante Bichette. Fire Mattingly and Martinez. Fire Schneider. Fire Atkins. Fire Farrell. Fire Shapiro.
JoJo Parker Dunedin Blue Jays - A SS On Tuesday, Parker was just 1-for-5, but the one hit was his first professional home run. Explore JoJo Parker News >
