  1. Someone was saying that Loperfido was a 50 fv or about to be graded as one.
  2. Yeah who expected 2 50 fv players plus a guy doing decent as large adult son in AAA ? I will give Ross credit. it seems like there was a legit bidding war for Yusei. Probably the dodgers were in it till Dana blew his load. So nice haul and if the market is like this for pitching I wonder what we could get for CBass? And again Atkins’ shrewd usage of FA dollars on pitchers pays off. I will tip the hat if any of these make it as regular contributors.
  3. This regime can’t evaluate talent nor develop youth. We could have got a haul for this guy two years ago. Instead they hold on like grim death to these drafted guys and watch the either implode to lack of proper development or injury or a combination of both.
  4. Hey aside from the Baltimore stuff. Who are the prospects we could be looking at ?
  5. So I know the season isn’t finished but I’m looking towards next year. We are loooking at the third best odds for draft slot position. Anyone have any links or profiles they’d like to add so we can get the ball rolling on the next group of draft eligible prospects? I hear the other Holliday kid might be better than Jackson. I know a lot can change in a year but this next draft looks to be better at the top with a good blend of position players both in high school and college. Draft skill and speed and sign or trade for pitchers. Let’s follow the Baltimore model if possible.
  6. I don’t follow the team everyday. I come here a lot and some other sites for minor league updates. I think our scouting staff if anything needs a shake up. Farrell jr isn’t touting any real success stories. Nothing looks good for this org coming from his direction.
  7. I think our development coaches have to go. We don’t have any hitting success stories at all. They have hand ample opportunities and we have really nothing to show for it. Is it scouting or the dev teams fault? Why can’t we spend on the coaching? Schneider is a crystallized example of the orgs philosophy. Get coaching on the cheap and hope they fit In and become good soldiers. We never seem to hire guys with actual MLB experience via playing or coaching. It’s frustrating. And hearing about Bonilla, Nimalla, Toman, Doughty etc makes me wonder about the orgs philosophy even more.
  8. Perhaps we luck out and win a lottery this season like Cleveland did. How does Cleveland keep rolling and we inherit the brain trust from their former management and we are this bad? That Ramirez trade should have happened prior to his extension. Prospects are such mercurial assets vs bonafide mvp level players. Alex would have made that deal.
  9. What’s next years crop of draft prospects supposed to look like? It’s all I have to look forward to with a season like this.
  10. Atkins has to go. His drafting record alone is fireable.
  11. This team is too pathetic to have this payroll that they boast. Start from the top down. Clean house.
  12. Legit question. Is it because of the accusations of some rougher than normal coitus?
  13. Why haven’t we signed Trevor Bauer? That guy could help a pitching staff. Trade kikuchi and sign TB.
  14. I kinda agree. Like doesn’t Horowitz provide a younger more well rounded, I sense the irony talking about vogelbach, version of DV? Maybe not the raw power but still good swinger from the left side? IMO Cavan is replaced by the versatility of Schneider and IkF.
  15. This team is pathetic. No fight no depth. From the president down this group is rotten.
  16. Bo looks so stagnant as a hitter. He isn’t showing he is making adjustments at all. Probably just sulking.
  17. This group of hitters is a lost cause. The pitching over achieved and is regressing to the mean. Nearly shut out yesterday. Looking pedestrian again today. To the tigers. Omfg Retool already and hire competent and skilled leadership.
  18. I think the jays need to invest some of that team budget into scouting and coaching. More specifically, coaches and scouts with reputations of success with player development. It seems like this management group are trying to unearth the next big name in the respective circles. Tear the team down and start over. But with that record budget, invest In proven scouting, proven coaching at all levels. Are we a development org or a big time destination org that all names flock to? I’m just so sick of this team. It’s been two years of this. I will be happy to see Atkins and Shapiro go. Hire proven executives who hire proven scouting staff. The system looks bereft of star power. The team looks moribund. Thanks Mark and Ross. Your quest to help the defence has ruined all the excitement this team had at one time. Notice how so many teams have home run celebrations now? That suit jacket was awesome. What a spectacular decimation of an entertaining team. Bo and Vlad look so average. Hire back Dante Bichette. Fire Mattingly and Martinez. Fire Schneider. Fire Atkins. Fire Farrell. Fire Shapiro.
  19. I’m not saying they don’t have a plan. I’m saying there are far too many competing voices around the clubhouse regarding their individual and collective approaches. Hitting to me is about hunting fastballs and hurting hanging breaking balls. It’s still a simple concept. See it. And hit it. Mind you having a scouting report and thinking the sequencing of a pitcher is the art of it. I personally think umpires unfairly target the jays hitters and it has killed their approaches and plate discipline. Babe and vladdy both. Robo umps will help this significantly. Until then we have to get used to this team under performing especially against good pitching.
  20. Last year they couldn’t score on good pitching. This may we play the white Sox for 6 games. That should get the Pollyannas salivating. I still see the same problems. No power. Deteriorating assets. Poor game mgmt. Offensive coordinator ? What is this football? Too many voices circulating the players. It’s a difficult thing to do but it’s essentially “see ball, hit ball. “. These guys are not playing winning baseball. I’m ready for management top down to go. Saionara Shapiro. Adios Atikins. See you around Schneider.
  21. He was referencing how the past two teams he played for don’t nearly game plan the same way the dodgers do. Sounds like a country club up here if you squint hard enough.
  22. It has to be nigh for this group. John Schneider can go. Atkins can go. And Shapiro can go The teoscar Hernandez comments are telling. This org is poorly led from the top down. We should be the dodgers north but they keep hiring execs and their guys without any resume to back it up. AA is laughing at us with our situation.
  23. I think you fire Atkins if this team stays the same offensively. They just can’t put together good hitting plans. I’m convinced this group isn’t going to change despite a hot JT.
  24. I’m just so disappointed with this offence. Again vs championship caliber teams and this team can’t manufacture anything. It’s likely we head into another rebuild after we lose Vlad and Bo. I think Vlad is broken. He just isn’t a serious threat against good pitching imo.
  25. I don’t think you sell low on him. Let him pitch out of the fifth spot with a renewed attitude and a new appreciation for fitness. Perhaps he can still show the bulldog mentality. If white, tide man and Francis look good again next year then think about a Manoah deal. Those 4 years of club control are too valuable with what Manoah could be. IMO he’s a good off-season and a couple of tweaks away from being a strong #3 maybe #2. What about Manoah+for Soto? Lots of good options for arms this off-season. Yamamoto looks like he could be good value and slot our other guys one rung lower, maybe. With Nola resigned it’s still a fertile market for arms. Dylan cease has good peripherals and has some club control yet. I’d stay away from Snell. But Eduardo Rodriguez is back on the market. Brandon Woodruff is a sleeper pick for a creative deal a La Chad green. I don’t think they should sign any of the top position players. Acquire a guy with one remaining year of control like Adames or Drury even to allow the inf prospects more playing time next year barring a trade. Soler maybe but he has injury troubles and is prone to whiffs. Berlinger hard hit rate is a bit concerning he didn’t look like the same hitter for better and worse last year but is gonna get a bag. Let the yanks over pay him. I have heard 12 for 250? Sheesh we need to focus on some impact OF talent via the draft soon. Jung Ho Lee is interesting. Even Yunito Gurriel would be a solid LF is the price is right. I think ohtani would be our best bet. A SP in 2025 and 1.000 ops potential in left handed power to balance out this line up a bit. He comes in at 50 + with performance clauses?
