Their window on the Seager and Semien deals is interesting. Those 2 have been full value + to date, but their bill is due through the 2031 and 2028 seasons. Who knows with deGrom and that sugar high signing? Its become almost routine now when Mad Max gets lit up in an outing.

It might still work for them. We can't just dismiss the incredible success they had throughout the year because of one terrible stretch. Keep in mind that they're still in it. They do have some young talent mixed in as well. They also still have a couple of years to make it happen after this one.

But Texas didn't get 0 in return. Chapman's been worth 0.5 WAR in like 22 innings and his pitching almost exactly how you'd expect him to - he's just gotten bitten by the long ball a bit (after not giving up any with the Royals - which wasn't sustainable). This comparison is awful.
