mellowgold Verified Member Posted September 2, 2023 Posted September 2, 2023 The Mets are my new favourite team. Just did us another solid tonight.
Nursehoneybadger Verified Member Posted September 2, 2023 Posted September 2, 2023 rangers announcers trashing their team. Calling bullpen a little area to hang out in between giving up home runs.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2023 Author Posted September 2, 2023 Not that this game gains the Rockies was already as close to must win as you can get…this really makes it must win.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2023 Author Posted September 2, 2023 The top 5 hitters in Atlantas lineup have more HRs between them than 17 entire teams, including the jays

Laika Community Moderator Posted September 2, 2023 Posted September 2, 2023 This would not be good for Texas if this gets worse. Sounds like he's pitching with a partially torn ligament or something
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2023 Posted September 2, 2023 One of the most majestic HR's I've seen this season:
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2023 Posted September 2, 2023 One of the most majestic HR's I've seen this season: Would be nice if we didn’t have to face a hot Stanton for 6 more games this year…
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2023 Posted September 2, 2023 Would be nice if we didn’t have to face a hot Stanton for 6 more games this year… Knowing the Jays luck, him and Judge will be raking at that time.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2023 Posted September 2, 2023 This would not be good for Texas if this gets worse. I even recall at the end of last season with the Mets, Max wasn't 100%. He pitched awful against San Diego in the WC.

Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2023 Posted September 2, 2023 I think most of us here definitely wanted Bellinger, just not at that price. It was a huge gamble that payed off Quite a few were OK with the $18M or whatever it was. What could have been....

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 3, 2023 Posted September 3, 2023 Acuna is going off again Has homered in 3 straight games By far his best offseason ever
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 3, 2023 Posted September 3, 2023 Braves +241 run differential

jaysthebest Verified Member Posted September 4, 2023 Posted September 4, 2023 Yanks are no joke lately lol.
jaysthebest Verified Member Posted September 4, 2023 Posted September 4, 2023 I don't know if I should root for the Rangers or Astros tomorrow.
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2023 Posted September 4, 2023 Yankees converted Michael King to a starter, 5 innings today, 4 K's, 0 runs
glory Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2023 Posted September 4, 2023 I don't know if I should root for the Rangers or Astros tomorrow. Good news is the Jays are behind both teams by 1.5 games now, and one of the teams is going to lose every night over the next 3 days, so there's a chance to make ground. The bad news is, the Jays are going to have to win their games, and even with the s***** competition that's not a certainty.
Nursehoneybadger Verified Member Posted September 4, 2023 Posted September 4, 2023 I don't know if I should root for the Rangers or Astros tomorrow. you root for whoever wins the first game and hope they get a sweep. Honestly don't think you can go wrong with any of the 2 teams winning though any amount of that series. Probably want Astros to win though. It only really matters if we can at minimum split 2 with Texas.
Masterbather Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2023 Posted September 4, 2023 I don't know if I should root for the Rangers or Astros tomorrow. Root for the Astros. Astros schedule is easier, that's why they likely win the West, Rangers have a tougher schedule.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2023 Posted September 4, 2023 Have to root for the Astros. Four games head to head with Texas you can control taking over the 3rd WC spot
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2023 Posted September 4, 2023 Yanks are no joke lately lol. Yeah people who thought they would be a walkover later this month, not too sure about that.
max silver Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2023 Posted September 4, 2023 Yeah people who thought they would be a walkover later this month, not too sure about that. Given what we've seen from the Jays lately they are far from a lock to reliably beat even the worst teams, but the Yankees have been pretty awful for several months now. I didn't realize how badly the Yankees have been struggling but they are a combined 23-33 from the start of July, go back to the start of June and their record is relatively better but still poor at 34-45 over nearly half a season of play.

Yankees have been a huge disappointment. Even on paper, I didn't think they had that great of a team. I could see them having a big offseason which worries me. I really think they go hard after Ohtani.

As frustrating as the Blue Jays season has been at least the Yankees season has been infinitely worse with an even higher payroll.
