Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2022 Posted June 13, 2022 Cool. Santander being out is pretty huge. Akin is having a good year as well.
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 13, 2022 Posted June 13, 2022 Stowers might be okay watch him hit a bunch of dongs
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2022 Posted June 13, 2022 I hate when people cry about a pitcher getting babip’d to death. Do they comment about how lucky the guy is getting when the balls are finding gloves? They don’t. Yes they do? lol... moron.
Ray Verified Member Posted June 13, 2022 Posted June 13, 2022 O's have graduated from being a historically bad team to just regular bad. Lost 110 games last season, on track to lose 92 this year. To my surprise, they haven't been terrible offensively, and have some pretty decent bullpen arms that throw gas. Still a team we should beat a lot, but it might not be as easy as last season.

Rutschman being up will make a big difference once he gets going. In a couple of years there will probably be 2 of Kremer, Akin, Baumann, Wells, Bradish, etc. who turn into really good pitchers.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2022 Posted June 13, 2022 Yes they do? lol... moron. Not if it’s their own teams pitcher. Just the opposing one

Big BlueJay Verified Member Posted June 13, 2022 Posted June 13, 2022 Odor 4th. HM. Still has plenty of pop, it just comes with a .200 avg.

That's because I just picked up Santander this morning, go figure he'd be the one hitter on their team unvaxxed. I could f up a wet dream when it comes to my fantasy baseball luck

Dagagad Verified Member Posted June 14, 2022 Posted June 14, 2022 James Norwood DFA’d by the Phillies. He is 100% someone we should look to add to the back of the bullpen. Averages 97 mph on his fastball. He’s got an 89th percentile Barrell%, 87th percentile chase rate. The Phillies pitching development is an absolute trash fire, so he’s worth bringing in to see if we can unlock something. The raw tools are hard to find. I feel like we’d need to trade for him. The orioles or some other smart bad teams will be all over that.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2022 Posted June 14, 2022 I feel like we’d need to trade for him. The orioles or some other smart bad teams will be all over that. Every team would have to trade for him unless he clears waivers.
Dagagad Verified Member Posted June 14, 2022 Posted June 14, 2022 Every team would have to trade for him. Being DFA doesn’t make the guy a free agent. Can’t a team claim him on waivers?
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2022 Posted June 14, 2022 Can’t a team claim him on waivers? They can but the waiver claim doesn’t come into play until 10 days after the DFA date. Any team can trade for him before then if they want to. It’s only after 10 days that the waiver claim priority comes into play

We pick too late to get him, so we’d need to jump the que by trading for him

Teo / 97 wRC+ (185 wRC+ in June) 6. Espinal / 121 wRC+ 7. Gurriel / 108 wRC+ (199 wRC+ in June) 8. Chapman / 93 wRC+ 9. Biggio / 108 wRC+ (174 wRC+ since returning) Also Jansen with a 150 wRC+ Team is f***ing stacked just like we thought/hoped. Even that turd Tapia has a 146 wRC+ in June Zimmer though...lol *one of these things is not like the others*

And 93 isn’t even THAT bad, that’s pretty much league average with elite D. Glad things are starting to normalize and the offense is what we expected it to be.

Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2022 Posted June 14, 2022 Yet they are 8 games behind the yanks, so frustrating I agree but the horseshoe will fall out of the Yankees' ass eventually. Their schedule is more difficult than ours and it's only Mid-June so there is still plenty of time. Fangraphs thinks we have a 20% chance to win the division still.

Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2022 Posted June 14, 2022 Even that turd Tapia has a 146 wRC+ in June Tapia might be raking but every time he has a play to make in the OF with runners on base, he derps it and more often than not, they score. Kinda over that - happens way too frequently . That said, he is becoming a much more interesting asset to be able to package into a trade, thoughts? Zimmer can't hit but he shouldn't be hitting, he's strictly a late-inning defensive replacement and a pinch-runner. Tapia doesn't hold a candle to what Zimmer adds in those settings.
Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2022 Posted June 14, 2022 LOL cf He's going to command more of an AAV than Scherzer and giving a contract to a player who has a propensity of breaking down (as amazing as Shohei is) for more than a year or two + taking on Rendon's obnoxious contract, ya... no.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2022 Posted June 14, 2022 Kirk on the bench again. Counting tonight, Kirk has not started in 3 of the last 6 games (there was an off day in between as well), and only caught once. Kawhi wasn't load managed this much.
