wamco Verified Member Posted March 12, 2022 Posted March 12, 2022 Why the f*** would we do that trade? Omg I mean baseball trade values puts it as 23.5 for 24.1 so where’s your beef? I thought we wanted Chapman/Ramirez
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 12, 2022 Posted March 12, 2022 Omfg Matt Chapman I thought you were referring to that other Chapman
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted March 12, 2022 Posted March 12, 2022 I do not want Villar but he projects to be useful in some role and was okay last year. If Toronto signs him I'll applaud Ross for not letting bias get in the way. It really should be completely irrelevant that he was bad here for 22 games in 2020... I'm not even basing my opinion of a Villar signing on his time here... I just don't think he has a skill set that we need, Espinal is just as good, younger, and cheaper than Villar for that role, and we have a couple of guys (Smith in particular) knocking at the door for infield utility. I'm not adding a 2 WAR guy to our infield if I'm the Jays FO. I'm either getting a significant upgrade at 3B, or I'm focusing elsewhere.

I even had a Blue Jays celebrity who had agreed to read a message (probably best that it didn't happen cause it would have surely had a f*** Weams part). Maybe I'll get something done for the 10 year anniversary next May. Who should we try to find and bring back? Winiwalt and Mac33 were around for a long time.

The_DH Verified Member Posted March 13, 2022 Posted March 13, 2022 When did the coaching staff change?
The_DH Verified Member Posted March 13, 2022 Posted March 13, 2022 When did the coaching staff change? Hudgens out, Schneider now bench coach (which he seemed to be last year anyway), Adam Yudelman, major league coach David Howell, pitching strategist and Hunter Mense as assistant hitting coach
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 13, 2022 Posted March 13, 2022 When did the coaching staff change? End of the season.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted March 13, 2022 Posted March 13, 2022 Tough to unsee though. In other words; some cocks can’t be unsucked Would you do Groshans and Pearson for Chapman ? I wouldn’t. For Ramirez sure, but there’s a good chance Chapman can’t hit anymore.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 13, 2022 Posted March 13, 2022 I wouldn’t. For Ramirez sure, but there’s a good chance Chapman can’t hit anymore. Ramirez starts with Moreno, Kirk +...

Seems to be some love for Jonathon f***in Villar. I just think he is a very bad example to have on a young team. Let me refresh the type of player you want to resign. When we were in the playoffs, and he got pinch hit for, He grabbed his bats and left the bench. He is a cancer. Disagree with your manager, thats the competitive nature of professional athletes. But to grab your s*** and leave your team, that should not be brought back.
The_DH Verified Member Posted March 14, 2022 Posted March 14, 2022 End of the season. It actually just got announced at 3:53, half hour after I first posted. But they updated the roster beforehand.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2022 Posted March 14, 2022 Ramirez starts with Moreno, Kirk +... Right, im just saying I wouldn’t move Groshans and Pearson for Chapman. I WOULD move Groshans, Pearson + for Ramirez

max silver Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2022 Posted March 14, 2022 Right, im just saying I wouldn’t move Groshans and Pearson for Chapman. I WOULD move Groshans, Pearson + for Ramirez I'd be very hesitant to move any of the Jays top prospects for Chapman. There is no guarantee whatsoever that Chapman bounces back with the bat as his WRC+ has been declining for the last 3 seasons. I wouldn't move Pearson as he's likely at his lowest possible value at the moment due to all the time lost due to injury. I think he's going to have a very good 2022 season. I have the same feeling about Groshans as well, I think he's going to really explode in 2022. Moreno and Martinez are each potential future cornerstone players, I don't think Chapman is good enough to move this quality of player. Ramirez certainly changes the calculus of the discussion. The only guy I would make off limits to Cleveland would be Moreno. Everybody else would be imminently available including Pearson, Martinez, Groshans, Kirk, etc.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2022 Posted March 14, 2022 I hope Pearson is just an RP so there’s at least a 30% he’s useful this season

HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2022 Posted March 14, 2022 Hey guys long time no see! Checks last time I posted 2018! Geez
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2022 Posted March 14, 2022 Donaldson to the Yankees…. Sheeeiiit
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2022 Posted March 14, 2022 I wish Vegas was as biased against the Jays as these dumbass rankings are. Right now they are only +180 to win the division and third lowest odds to win the World Series at +850. Bet365 has a special to boost their payout to +1100 so I took it. Not even going to bother with those division odds though. On what planet are the White Sox the second best team?

I don't find him to be an upgrade anywhere. I don't care about his attitude problem, but it doesn't make his case either.

saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2022 Posted March 14, 2022 I feel like we should just go sign Schwarber and call it a day. Move Moreno to 3rd when he comes up May 1 and look to the trade deadline to shake things up if we have to.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2022 Posted March 14, 2022 Notably missing Moreno... Edit: My bad, he's on the 40 man...
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2022 Posted March 14, 2022 Maybe if you’re actually good it could be forgiven lol Even then...dudes a sour puss and a quitter
