Laika Community Moderator Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 Gibbons doesn't even wear jerseys so an actual Gibby Jersey is fundamentally wrong and inauthentic.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 Friend of mine just got one... I feel like there could be some money made selling something like Gibby bath robes or something that fits his relaxed lifestyle.

Some day they will have a commerative John Gibbons pullover and spittoon giveaway. Hopefully on a Jr Jays Saturday, kids need to learn not to spit everywhere.

dineke Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 So Ken R saying Gibby is going to be out as well. where? Shatkins gonna bring their friend Farrell back aren't they? yuck.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 I don't picture Shapiro and Gibbons getting along. Shapiro is a suit and tie guy, and would like his front office to be the same way. I don't think it's important to replace Gibby in any way, but it won't surprise me if it happens. I'd give the job to John Schneider. He's got a relationship with almost everyone who came through the Jays org. He's been a winner twice now and might add a third this year. Plus his work in Hazard County cannot be ignored.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 That's assuming that he WANTS to continue as manager. That's the other rumour from Blair, saying Gibby said if you're not keeping me around next year, I want to go home. This was Pat Gillick reporting on PTS, lol, but seems to have stemmed from Brunt, I guess we'll find out after this Bosox series.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 Makes sense to have Gibby’s timeline end with Jd’s timeline. That might have been Shatkins plan. Let Gibby manage the JD teams and then move on after that.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 So Ken R saying Gibby is going to be out as well. I guess that was in his Managerial Merry Go Round article earlier today? Could you post what he said about Gibbons, please.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 What number would you get though? I believe his number is 6, or so I thought. Yes, L54 you're right 5.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 Sorry ass Brandon Drury to the DL. Urena called up.

Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 Sorry ass Brandon Drury to the DL. Urena called up. What the hell happened here?? I was at the Seattle games and don't recall any injury. I believe he had a minor wrist or hand injury before being traded. However the Saturday night game his swing looked great. He hit the ball hard a couple of times, especially a line drive double, if I recall correctly. I will say his throwing looked weak. I don't know if that was an injury, or he just has a subpar arm.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 Sorry ass Brandon Drury to the DL. Urena called up. Must be those migraines/dizziness, right?
sdyment Verified Member Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 Over two months for a bruised finger? Come on now..... He’s soft. If it looks like a Brandon Morrow, and breaks like a Brandon Morrow, then can we just fast forward to the part where he’s a dominant closer? There’ll be an opening July 31 2019 at the latest.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 Sorry ass Brandon Drury to the DL. Urena called up. Lol @ this season

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 Wow, so that hit by pitch he had in NY a game before being traded ends with a fracture in his hand, didn't they do medicals, lol.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 Looks like Gibby wears #5 Yep, and that's what my friend got on hers.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 Drury resting up before he breaks out next year.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 Wow, so that hit by pitch he had in NY a game before being traded ends with a fracture in his hand, didn't they do medicals, lol. Probably just as well. Gives him a chance to get over the other issues, start fresh and healthy next year. Meanwhile, we can showcase Solarte there for an August trade.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 Hopefully the Jays move up in the draft

Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 No only did they trade for replacement level Drury they traded for injured Brandon Drury.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2018 Posted August 8, 2018 New Player Note Tue, Aug 7 The Blue Jays are hopeful that Josh Donaldson (calf) will be able to begin sprinting workouts soon. Advice: That's the final hurdle that Donaldson needs to clear before he can begin a minor league rehab assignment. He's been working out, taking grounders, hitting, throwing, and jogging since mid-July. The impending free agent third baseman will likely be the big fish on the August waiver trade market if he's at 100 percent health. He's been out since May 29 with a lingering left calf injury.
