Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 Yaaaaaaaa SRF monday, I hope for the best, but expect something stupid like 2.3 ip 4bb 3k 4er. For Jansen just hope for a backup I guess? From the few clips i've seen him hit homeruns, he likes to beat up on hanging breaking balls. Not sure how he will do against 95 fastballs down/away. How does one throw 2.3 innings? Also you're dumb. Royals are basically a triple A team hes coming up and striking out 8 in 5 innings.

saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 I was pretty vocal about my displeasure about SRF not being called up so props to management for bringing him and Jansen up. We're a long shot to get a wild card next year with such a young team, but giving these 2 guys a month and a half in the bigs is going to help them a lot if they are both on the opening roster for next season.

glory Old-Timey Member Posted August 13, 2018 Posted August 13, 2018 I'm actually hoping SRF throws 10 straight balls and then dominates the rest of the game.

Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2018 Posted August 14, 2018 Mon, Aug 13 Josh Donaldson (calf) hopes to resume baserunning drills this week. Advice: Donaldson has been ramping up his workouts at the Blue Jays' spring training complex lately and hasn't had any issues to this point. The Jays think he'll be back this season, and hopefully sometime this month so that they can trade him to a contender. Donaldson has been sidelined since late May with a lingering left calf injury. BTS Community Moderator Posted August 14, 2018 Posted August 14, 2018 I don't really like that so many reports have the team wanting to trade him. He's unlikely to return much value, and at this point the team has three options on the table if they keep him: - He could accept the QO, which would be great. - He could reject the QO and return compensation. This is likely more valuable than his trade return at this point. - The two sides could work out a deal outside the parameters of the QO, either a 1-year deal or even a multi-year deal that's much cheaper than he would have signed 5 months ago. I don't really understand the hurry to move him in the next two weeks.

Todd Verified Member Posted August 14, 2018 Posted August 14, 2018 I hate to admit it but the jays management is doing actually a good job. It starts from the top and works it's way down. good top people and it's starting to work it's way down. The team itself is crap but they are good pieces to add to it. and the farm system is now ranked any where from 3 to the 7 best in the league. And have two of the top 10 prospects in mlb. Have made mistakes like Josh Donaldson not being traded at the start of the season. And the fact that team is one of the oldest teams in the league. And my personnel opinion is John Gibbons should be fired. With the team going younger finally team should have a guy who has new ways to do things. and teach at the same time. The way the team looks for next year looks pretty nice. Justin Smoak?????? Travis Devon Lourdes Gurriel Vlad Guerrero Dan Jansen No dh yet Teoscar Hernandez Kevin Pillar Randal Grichuk Bench Yandervis Solarte Al Diaz Russell Martin?? Troy Tulowitzki?? Marcur Stroman If he can stay heath Aaron Sanchez If he can stay heath Ryan Borucki Sean Reid Foley Sam Gaviglio ??? Bullpen Tom Pannone ??? Ryan Tepera Ken Giles ??

I don't really understand the hurry to move him in the next two weeks. The only thing I can think of is they expect a massive payroll decrease and don't want to risk him accepting the QO. Otherwise I agree with you. The comp pick is going to add money to the team's draft pool, so there's value there aside from the actual pick. No team is giving up a top prospect for him so it seems kind of pointless now.
Todd Verified Member Posted August 14, 2018 Posted August 14, 2018 QUESTION Since he has been hurt for 80 percent of the year do they still get the pick?

Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2018 Posted August 14, 2018 That team looks awful (not like that will be our 2019 opening day roster anyway) Yeah that team does not look good. We'll make some moves in the offseason but even then I think we are in for a long year. Going to be fun watching Vlad anyway though.

Almost every reporter is just making s*** up to fill their time/column.
