Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2018 Posted April 10, 2018 Severino is getting lit up hard by the Red Sox.. and this is the last thing the Yankees need, another game where the bullpen gets gassed.. Who cares what’s good for the Yankees though.

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 Yanks bullpen is throwing gasoline into the fire--Shreve and Kahnle have combined to give up 5 runs this inning. Sox lead 10-1.. Now 14-1 as Mookie slams.. he's got 4 hits, 5 runs scored, 4 RBIs, and a walk.. now 9 runs this inning.

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 At this point, Yanks fans are pining for Girardi to be rehired I bet--as Boone CANNOT manage a bullpen--who in hell lets two guys get left out there to give up 9 runs in an inning? Shreve has to be looking at a DFA at this point, and Kahnle has a bus to Scranton in his future (he has an option remaining).

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 Angels are for real man. Big f*** you to Ohtani for going to a WC rival. I wouldn't be so sure about them staying dominant, unlike the Red Sox--the lack of good rotation depth in LA after Ohtani is eventually going to sink them. Garret Richards has been awful, who knows if Skaggs will stay healthy or efficient (despite a 9-1 lead, Skaggs has already thrown 100+ pitches thru 5 tonight), Shoemaker's hurt, Ramirez is done for the year (TJS), Bridwell was so bad recently, he got sent back to AAA, and we don't know what Heaney and Tropeano will bring when they return. I just feel this current start is fool's gold--playing bad teams like Oakland and Texas help. This team unfortunately is too much like the 1987 team.. good team ruined by lousy pitching. Ohtani can't pitch every day--and this every 6 days thing is going to be a problem down the road.
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 Scott Kingery is a slap hitting, no power guy with above average but not great speed. Not sure I understand the obsession. Sounds like Levi Michael with less power. It takes more than strike zone judgement to move up the ladder. "Not great speed"? Kingery drives the ball to all fields, has a 60-grade run tool that was ranked as the fourth best speed tool out of college bats by Perfect Game, and he was showing power in his most recent season (25 XBH, 5 homers in 54 games). He also probably would have been playing shortstop if Newman wasn't on the same team as him. He can easily develop a little more power as he matures. He's a classic case of a guy being underrated because of his small height and low power tool. Examples: "While he led the Sun Devils with a .409 average and nine home runs, he doesn't have a pretty swing and is a slap hitter. But he has good strike zone judgment and is a tough out. He struck only 11 times while drawing 43 walks. He compares to Angels shortstop David Eckstein, though Eckstein is a better runner. On tools, Pedroia is not a high-round pick but he's a perfect fit for a performance-based organization like the Athletics, who have four of the first 40 picks." "Kipnis doesn't have one standout tool, but can do a little bit of everything. He has a patient approach and a line-drive swing. He has shown he can hit quality pitching, though he doesn't profile for big power with a wood bat, making him a potential tweener. While his defense in center field has improved, he doesn't have the range to stay there long-term--yet he might not hit enough to man a corner spot. He may also get a chance to try second base." So every undersized college second baseman from the state of Arizona is going to become Pedroia or Kipnis? That's not what I said though, is it? You proved my point by quoting the Pedroia report and saying he looks like Levi Michaels with less power, which is ironic, because you keep sarcastically asking if I'm a scout. Guys like Kingery have always been underrated by scouts and they will continue to be. He has a great feel for hitting, he has good discipline, he has a great speed tool, and he's shown that he can hit for power when he wants to (he's shown more power each season since 2013). He's even shown great makeup, for people that care about that, by clawing his way up from being a walk-on that nobody looked at in high school, to being a consensus top-40 prospect. He's a great late-1st/early-2nd round candidate in this draft. https://mediadownloads.mlb.com/mlbam/mp4/2018/04/11/1924992383/1523411496594/asset_1800K.mp4 a) f*** you guys f*** the Blue Jays c) I cry myself to sleep every night

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 Oh enough with your ******** please. I'm sorry, but it's true--this Angels team is playing way over its head. It's the same damn team that struggled to score last season--Simmons is not going to keep hitting .373 (as of writing). Facing teams like the Rangers and A's with garbage pitching staffs inflate numbers. Wait until they play the Yankees and Red Sox.. and of course the Astros. And let's see Ohtani actually face a team other than Oakland.. They're already having to dig deep for depth due to injuries--Jaime Barria (21 years old) is making his MLB debut tomorrow after only 2 IP in AAA Salt Lake because Tropeano and Heaney aren't quite ready yet, and even those two are no more than backend starters. Red Sox on the other hand--are legit. Astros as well.

Red Sox on the other hand--are legit. Astros as well. They also have faced a top notch Cleveland staff but you wouldn't care to mention them huh? Do you have some strange hatred bias towards the angels or something? 2 weeks you called the Angels a "circus organization" based solely on the fact they were letting Ohtani hit after a poor spring training Btw, he's gone on to post a 258 wRC+ so far at the dish including taking Corey Kluber deep
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 Brandon McCarthy has been diagnosed with a left shoulder subluxation. Advice: In other words, McCarthy partially dislocated his shoulder in that awkward play at first base Wednesday versus the Nationals. It's to his non-throwing arm, so that's the good news, but the veteran right-hander could still need some time off. McCarthy had thrown five innings of one-run ball on just 61 pitches Wednesday before he left the game. He holds a strong 3.31 ERA in 16 1/3 innings this season. f*** me... I own him in 3 league's, lol. That guy is made of glass.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 Lets stick on guys made of glass, shall we... Mets placed C Travis d'Arnaud on the 10-day disabled list with a partially torn UCL in his right elbow. Advice: The injury-prone 29-year-old backstop could very well be facing season-ending Tommy John surgery. It's rough news for the Mets, who have otherwise flourished in the early part of the 2018 regular season. Tomas Nido has been called up from Double-A Binghamton to share time behind the plate with Kevin Plawecki. (Rotoworld.com)
