I don't understand why you'd spend 1000 dollars on a Canada Goose coat when you could spend that money to move to a place that doesn't have winter.

 

There's nothing wrong with spending money on things you like lol... I love spending money on clothes, I got a Moose Knuckle jacket and man it's better than any other jacket I've ever owned. I also really want to buy a Gucci Belt (that's next up). As far as I see it, if you make enough money to pay your bills and have some extra left you can spend on yourself from time to time :P

Spending big money on good clothes is legit. But Canada Goose is not a smart buy. It's popular but not fashionable. You're paying for the Canadian labor and that's about it.

Does any team have interest in signing Bautista? The Jays have moved on (though still possible), Orioles don't want to anger their fans, Red Sox don't see a fit, Yankees and Giants aren't that interested. The only report that came out which a team showed interest was the Jays and Indians and that was 15 days ago. The market for him seems to be non existent

There was a quote the other day that said the Rays are monitoring the market and could step up and sign him if the price is right (Bautista resides in the Tampa area)

Yep for sure, seems like a pretty decent fit at this point.

 

 

Plus with a protected first round pick the Rays are in the same spot as the Jays, they'd lose their balance pick which is also in the 30s I believe.

Sears AlpineTek Down Parka goes on sale for ~$99 every now and again and is basically the same thing as a Canada Goose coat except with a different logo. Its almost too warm.

While he may well end up back here, I don't believe he'd turn down a fair deal from another team just because he wants to play for the Jays.

 

I'd guess it's more about PR in that if he signs here on a relatively low cost deal, he and his agent can say it's because he loves it here, and not because no one else wanted him at a fair price.

Probably true, and i'd be totally fine with that. Make it look like Bautista is the good guy, rather than make the front office look like bad guys.

Yeah, and at this point in the offseason it does seem to make sense for all parties.

 

Main sticking point is going to be the length of contract - will the Jays offer 3 years? Would Bautista accept 2?

He's not getting 3 or 2 years lol. It'll be a one-year deal.

If he really does want to come back here, he should take a 1 year deal and move on. Even with a another mediocre year by his standards he'll be offered 12-14 mil on another 1 year deal somewhere, especially without teams giving up a draft pick.

I'd prefer 2 years over 1 if we're not going to get a pick for him.
